OT: Old

Post by Gambit37 »

Gaah, I'm 30 today! And I was made redundant four weeks ago and still haven't found another job. Just looking for a bit of sympathy.... :-)

you were made redundant???? Doesn't seem quite possible. You are a talented web designer.

as for the 30 thing though.. no sympathy there.. I have it comming to me in less than a year myself.

Thank you for the ego boost! Try telling that to my ex-employer. We're taking them to court anyway, 'cos they didn't do things by the book, so in about 9 months time after it goes to tribunal I might get something out of it!

Happy birthday, but **** about the job situation : (
And yes, that's always the way of tribunals - you get the compensation you need now once you don't need it anymore

And I'd agree, from what I've seen of your work on just your own site, I can't imagine your talents or devotion to perfection will be much longer without use. Good luck!

I won't say how old I am, but I did have a birthday recently, and I'm not looking down the barrel of 30 yet, just at the start of the slope : )
Was unable to (permenantly) kill off ian_scho (Haynuus), Ameena, oh_brother (Westian), money (Falkor), raixel (Petal) and Lord_Bones (Aurek) in the DM D&D game Time's Champions!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THOSE WHO MADE THE GAME WHAT IT WAS - GREAT!

Life's full of little ironies! Oh, and on top of all that, some filthy hound had dropped the most foul smelling disgustingly nauseating slimy turd on the steps outside my flat--I had to spend an hour today clearing it up! If that's what the first day of being 30 is like, I hate to see the rest of the year!

Seriously, thanks for the comments guys -- I guess I'm appreciated somewhere. Once I've got a new job and things have settled down, I'll return to DM Codex. I haven't done anything on it for most of this year :( . It'll be a birthday present from me to you all! :)

Beowuuf, you may be younger than me, but I take some small comfort that you are about 100 posts sadder than me!

lol, and I take comfort in the fact that at least someone else has the above 500 posts rating, so i don't look too sad : )

Aha! I chose they way of the ninja and hid my post count for the first few hundred posts.. :) now I come out of the shadows and no one is the wiser..

so anyway, peddle your wares around town Gambit.. I'm resonably certain you will find someone willing to take up your talents.

You won't beleive it:
The best service I received was to be fired from school while I was yong, fired from work while I was getting old.
It did make me much better. I understood it much later, but beleive me that's true.
Hope this will help you.
