This bugs concerns the killing of materializers on level 11.
Once a materializer has fired at you a few times, it ceases to alternate between it's solid and transparent forms. It stays transparent making it impossible to kill.
If you are in a corridor with one of these in front of you and one of them behind you, the game is over. They block any further progress.
If you can kill one before it has had a chance to fire at you a few times you are ok. It disappears as normal.
Anyone else had this experience ?
I'm referring to the eastern ( right hand ) side of level 11.
Buggy Materializers.

Re: Buggy Materializers.
Possibly this is a a bug, but I haven't got that far yet in 0.23. However, you can kill them when they are transparant if you use the Vorpal Blades.

Buggy Materializers
The Vorpal Blade worked fine. I never bothered using this weapon in the past for some reason.
Thanks for your help.
Thanks for your help.
Re: Buggy Materializers
Yes, but the spell should only work when they are materialized, if I remember correctly.

Re: Buggy Materializers.
Can you please send me a save game with a materialiser that won't in it? I can then have a look at what it's thinking and figure out what's wrong...

Materializer Bug
Sorry George !
I have gone over that particular gamesave. After using the Vorpal Blade, I have saved many times since so I won't be able to send you a gamesave.
If I can give you a bit more information:
I am using V0.23
I have tried replicating this bug where there is a materializer generator at ( 11-26-35 ) . All these materializers behave normally.
There is a point at the corner of a corridor at ( 11-44-45 ) where monsters ( Knights, Materializers ) will not venture any further westwards ( towards the big room ).
If you go north from this point, this is the area where the materializers were not behaving correctly. They would ( after having fired at you a few times ), chase you around ( as per normal ), but remain in their semi-solid state and not firing. In other words, if you moved into an alcove or a dead end, they would block you in.
Someone else may be able to give you more info if the same problem happens to them.
p.s.
When I did have this situation saved, rebooting the game and save position made no difference. The bug was still apparent.
