After completing Reactor, I decided to play with my characters from this game in CSB. There are several things that I've noticed that I don't remember occuring in the original version:
1. on the level directly below the "supplies for the quick" area, there is a wall just near the entrance to the junction of ways where if an object is thrown against it, it disappears once it hits the floor; it's gone for good. Don't have a saved game of this, but i can get one easily. Really weird, only happens on this wall.
2. In the Dain juction way, there's a spot where you go up a bunch of stairs and there's a ton of rives (laughing pit area). There are way too many rives here, this area was impossible because of the sheer amount of them; I don't recall there ever being this many. just a very frustrating spot that I have to avoid.
3. I'm finding monsters in places I never saw: ex: in the halway leading to the DDD, i'm finding demons and rock piles; i remember this spot being really quiet before. As well, i'm finding a lot of rock piles and demons in the room with Mongor the dragon. can barely move in there. I'm guessing they fell from the floor above through some pit.
4. On that point, i've also noticed that moving to a floor that clicks in Mongor's room imediately turns into a pit. If i'm not mistaken, you'd have to step on a floor like this several times before it finally became a pit.
5. On the opening DDD area, the pit that blocked the way to Ros was never there when I got there the first time. Maybe you got rid of this because it was known to cause problems in the original version.
6. And finally, just below that area where skeletons appear, I am having the same difficulty where they cannot be transported in front of the door.
All in all, just wanted to say George that I'm really happy to have RTC to play; it gives me some great study breaks here at university. Keep up the good work
One more thing i remembered, the dragon plate of amour was in the alcove in the "supplies for the quick" area. Was it here in the original version? I thought i found this item near the end of the game originally.

Re: CSB bugs?
I agree with most of your observations, in particular the numerous Rives near the laughing pit. This is connected to incorrect generator timings and the fact that Rives can cross pits in RTC, when they couldn't in CSB. Has that been fixed in 0.23 -- I haven't got that far yet.
The objects disappearing below the supplies for the quick is part of the mechanism for returning stuff upstairs. It was like that in the original, but you're right, it is odd.
The problem with monsters being in places where they shouldn't be is because RTC doesn't have a limit per level, and they can exist everywhere. There's nothing stopping monsters roaming the whole dungeon. I feel this is one point that's difficult to get right. While it's good that monsters have more freedom, there should be some way of making their behaviour more like DM and CSB. Perhaps adding a MONSTERTYPES setting for each level which is a comma separated list? Then when RTC detects that a monster of that type has appeared on the level it is destroyed immediately?
A small point about Mongor -- he's the big one in the basement on the way of Ku. The one under the DDD is just a "larger dragon".
