Re-Using Characters in RTC

Post by PicturesInTheDark »

More like a game-play question: If I want to re-use characters in RTC for a new adventure, where does the game store this information from previous games? I played two complete dungeons so far (DM classic, Reactor) and when I start any dungeon and try to make a new adventure, I have no champions at all to choose from.

Very possible I deleted something I shouldn't have - can somebody please tell me which file that could be?

The files needed are the savegames. They are stored in the "modules" directory, i.e. RTC\Modules\DM_Original.SV0. When you click the scroll at the dungeon entrance you choose "make new adventure" on the following menu, and normally RTC should let you choose among all characters of all savegames.
Hmm, maybe you created some link/shortcut without giving a working directory parameter (or whatever that's called in english windows)? Then you might still add it.
Or maybe you played those games before your last version upgrade? Then you should copy those files to your current directory. This will work unless they are from some version that was before some change of the dungeon format (last dungeon format change was from V 0.21 to 0.22 I think).
If all of above doesn't help you, ask George, I suppose he can help you.

Thank you, Lunever, I guess the problem was indeed the version, because I played both RTC and DM "classic" with RTC 0.21, which save games are probably not recognized by the latest one.

Oh well, tough luck ;)
