2 Quick Questions

Post by Blacklight »

Wanted to give a quick shout out to those working on this project. I played all the originals on the Amiga back in the early 90s and got a hankering to play again. Found this little gem and it made my weekend :)

However, somethings don't seem as I remember. Is it just me or can I not seem to access the Magic Map the way it was implemented in CSB on the Amiga? I seem to remember I used to be able to keep it open on the right and move with it viewable. I'm probably just missing something here..

Another quick thing: Wasn't there a "load" option in CSB (without the hari kari method)? I seem to remember having an orgasm when I first saw it playing CSB on my Amiga. :?:

welcome to the Forums!

to let us help you better. Which version of CSB are you playing? The one with RTC? Or the CSB for windows?

Both options are fully implemented in CSB (RTC). The map will show you where you are if you have it in your right hand (only if you are in the inventory, but that's how it used to be - at least on Amiga) and the load option certainly is present at the start of the game ("Resume"). Or did you play some other version and not RTC?

no, I have to agree, I seem to remember activating the magic map while walking around the dungeon, casting map spells every once in a while. That was the point so you could keep track of things.. like sudden changes in direction with the magic spinners, or follow a fireball traveling, etc.

I have not tried CSB far enough to have used the map really in RTC. So I don't know how it works or doesn't in there.. but in DM I seem to remember being able to acess it over the fight icons or just below them..

anyway..
