Am I Stupid? (DMute)
1. i cant create missile holes on a wall
2. my created dungeon has random lockups or some walls appear in orange or any weird color
3. i cant edit the content of a chest
4. i cant let carry a monster some item
5. i can move mirrors or create an VI altar
6. my dungeon rules anyway (i will upload it after i finished the BETA test)
7. i get stuck in each kind of maze
8. is there a way to get the map of CSB in dungeon master or some edited dungeon?
9. am i the only 1 who never heard any word of Nexus?
10. am i the only one who finished the original DM about 50 times which each char at least 3 times?

Some answers
1. You have to put an object and change the graphic if needed. However, the graphics and the function of throwing missiles are completely independent.
Check the " shooters" post. (I think there's a search option in this site)
2. Before you save your dungeon, do a "check integrity". Also, some graphics are not allowed in certains levels, for doors and pressure pads. Pressure pads are set to graphic type 3 by default, you should change them to 1 for example, or 0 if you want them invisible.
3 & 4: check the "DMute user questions" post.
5: For the mirrors, do a cut and paste ("X" then "V") and use "P" to change the position. Then put the corresponding pressure pad (character) in one of the tiles near the mirror.
If you modify the hex of the mirror, it won't work.
The ornates alcove are working on level 0. The vi altar needs to be hex edited to make it working, but I don't remember the byte to be edited. I think Beowulf has the answer.

8. You can dmute CSB for amiga or atari (extracting the file to PC). You can't play a CSB dungeon on DM, for DM has several objects limitations.
Maybe someday someone will release a dungeon recreating the most of CSB possible, but for now nobody succeeded.

Of course not!
1. The missile post is in page 5...but also, the trigger that activates the missile hole needs to have an additional element, you must add 10, 20 or 30 for an east/south/west facing shooter to the 7th byte.
2. The stair lock-up bug is covered on page 5 too, other glitches are as stated, (incorrect graphics on pressure pads) and there is also a lock up if you change an object the character carries with dmute to something much heavier and drop[ the item (dmute doesn't change a characters weight, so you can go under 0kg, and produce an odd semi-lock). All in all it is normally down to bad hex editing, so check any objects in that area.
3&4 Previous pages (page 5 again) though Jerry recently asked about that, which will be on this page.
5. NEVER view character mirrors (or anything complex) with the dmute GUI, as it erases important hex values. Also make sure you move the name pads infront of the mirrors, otherwsire the game will crash when the character is selected. Dmute seems to assign too high values for altars/acoves on occasion for graphics, so you get a garble. Edit the fifth byte to 1x, 2x, 3x etc (where x remains unchanged from previous) until dmute shows the correct object (VI altar, etc)

to 10: i also like solo-adventures, but i mainly play with 2 chars, because it is too time wasting, to train 4 chars on high lvls...(end of rat lvl or end of worm lvl just invite to train your chars to exceeding lvls, my highest was =master mages (3 of them) and 2 2nd lvl master fighters (same game, all ~650 hp and 200 mana)...blablabla

Your dungeon
i'm afraid the lock-up bugs are hitting me big time (i have dm 3.4, don't know if that matters) - i couldn't get on to levels 3, 6, 8 and 9, and on level 10 (cowards will be hunted down...) the creatures seem to have become cloned to each other or something - if i kill a generated monster now, the game locks. And I was looking for secrets while playing, so there are an awful lot of generated monsters running around : )
What I did play was, as you say straightforward and nicely linear, and quite fun. It kept me playing level 10 passed the bugs (killing non-corps with a magic low non-vorpal blade party isn't easy), but I'm stuck now, which isn't fair : ( I liked the hall of champions idea too.

The mystery deepens
I got back my own computer to use instead, and your game hasn't locked so far (I added the original lock up cure of two teleporters to the top and bottom level to the dungeon file and restarted)...however even this doesn't work on this other computer! And even though both have the same version of DM!
And I forgot to say, you need to also add 1 to the third byte of the floor pads to make them 'speak'.

atm, i create a new dungeon, similar to the old one, but this time i have a plan
its possible that the lockups are caused by the moved mirrors in the hall of champions, they arent moved correctly (look at the target and you know, what i mean). my new one lets the hall of champs unchanged, to avoid one possible cause of the error.
btw, level 10 is my favourite (loads of knights

to the generated monster prob: maybe the game locks up, because the limit of maximum monsters is reached (i created my dungeon very hard to the maximum and with generators...hmm)

The game hasn't locked up on this machine, so I managed to finish this time...quite good (I prefer the scorpion/spider level for fighting, so much fighting!) though I did luck finishing it (wasn't sure how to find the firestaff or what to do on the last two levels, so more finding things as I tried to attack people and jumping down pits to avoid large odds).
The fireball launchers on level 8 seem to be deactivated - the triggers are fine, just the actual wall object needs to be set up for firing (something like 3rd byte 8, 8th byte 1). And I think you should shorten the corridor on level 13 leading from stairs to chaos, as otherwise it is a pain being trapped at it.
I liked the illusionary wall maze (nice twist) and the demon room the level before the tomb of the firestaff, and as you say the knight level is good for lots of fights, though as with the rat level I think I kept tripping the trigger during fights so I REALLY had to fight my way back through the levels.
And I think the lock up might be to do with the speaking pads - I noticed that an object I layed on one appeared on at least two others, on levels that had locked up on my other machine (most noticable on the time is of the essense/ha ha pads on level 6). And the 'earth elements' pad on level three would occasionally have some blue ogres or mummies appear briefly on it!
Moving the champion mirros shouldn't have any effect (I've done it myself), and the area they point to is only because they are set up to be active for no reason (like the first set of manacles in original DM). The knight problem from last game I am less sure, though riding the limit shouldn't have been a problem..ah well...

new dungeon in progress
im very glad you liked my dungeon, as for myself i liked it, too
now i finally know how missile holes work, so im going to use it extendedly on my new dungeon. i like the flying scroll from CSB and just added a similar thing in my dungeon. not as boring as objects lying unmotivatedly on the ground
to the spider/scorp level: i exactly calculated that, to make it tight, but not imposible
below 500 health, or if your chars arent able to use hardcleave, it gets too hard. but as i said before, i prefer fighting to riddles.

now i finally know how missile holes work, so im going to use it extendedly on my new dungeon. i like the flying scroll from CSB and just added a similar thing in my dungeon. not as boring as objects lying unmotivatedly on the ground
