Interesting scan of the back of DM for Atari ST

Post by ChristopheF »

Have a look at the scan here:

Can you find all the differences between the sceenshots and the final version of the game? There are LOTS of them!

Damn! So much for having an exclusive of this! That'll teach me to take so long to get the site up and running... I have a copy of this version of DM. It was the very first, and only a thousand or so exist. It's quite different from the other version because the manual slips into a fold out flap on the front.

Still, I can give you lots more info about the stuff that was changed by the time the game was released...

Sorry for this one. As you say, I'm sure you still have plenty of other exclusives. Are you still planning to release the site for this summer?

Maybe. It really depends on how things go with looking for work. I'm not exactly in the best of moods at the moment, which doesn't help on the motivation to get the Codex up and running.... :(

Hmm. Neither the menu for spells (scroll up/down necessary) nor the coloured dots of the characters are much to my liking. But there's other interesting stuff in there, I agree...

Hi Gambit37

Maybe i have misunderstand ? :o

With all the posts you made I thought you're a player :?

What version of the antique DM do you have ? (ST, Amiga or else ..)

If you have the disk many people will be interrested AND VERY GRATEFUL to you :D :D

To transfer it to an image *.st or *.msa :http://atariste.free.fr/ go to page "Guide de TRANSFERT ST/PC"
It's in french

Maybe you can contact the famous BRUME on e-mail pacidemo@planet-d.net

PS : be comprehensive with my crappy english (i'm french)
PS 2 : what's the meaning of Gambit37 ?

Bye

I have all versions of DM, but that doesn't mean I can play them all! I've bought them because I wanted them for my dungeon master website (still under construction).

I have no time to investigate converting these disks. maybe in a few months...

Gambit37? Nothing special... ;)

according to that link the program "make disk" converst st disks to .st and .msa files. So I imagine you can simply run the program, insert your disk and then make the image.

However, it states that it's best to drop to msdos mode to do this.. which if you are using a non-dos based version of windows(anything above win98).. you need a dos boot disk. so could be a bit of a hassle.. but well apreciated I'm sure.

Hi Gambit37,

I understand that you're very busy; maybe you think it's difficult to do an image;
Maybe you don't want to share this "REAL GEM" of pre-version of DM
because you want to keep it for the future DM Codex ?

If it's only a matter of time and/or difficulty : try this link in english :
http://home.tu-clausthal.de/~ifmar/makedisk/

Whatever you do : thank you for the future DM Codex ! and keep the GEM safe from destruction.
Bye
