Stuck on Level 5

Post by Parks »

I am stuck in one of the puzzle rooms at the beginning of level 5. Its the on at the end which has 3 pressure pads, a teleport and a pit. - I just can't seem to keep the door open - the pit closed or anything (its driving me round the bend!!)

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Cheers

It's been a while since I played the game in full, but if memory serves me correctly, flicking the switch will turn on a teleporter on the empty square. Stuff in the teleporter ends up on the pad over the pit.... but only if it's PLACED on the empty tile before you flick the switch.

Hi there,

You're memory serves you very well! Thats the room. The pressure pad that things get teleported to *appears* no to do anything. There is a green button on the wall that closes the pit next to you - but the pressure pad the other side of the pit opens it up again.....

Are you sure you're doing it right?

From outside the room, enter, walk to the spot in front of the gate, turn left 90 degrees, place an item on the floor (the space with no pressure pads), trun around 180 and flick the switch on the wall -- the item is teleported to the pad over the pit and the gate should open.

Hi again,

I followed your instructions, but when the switch is flicked, The item I placed on the floor gets teleported round to the pressure plate in the corner next to the open pit but nothing else happens. To retreive the item i step into the teleport, which teleports me to the same location the item is (facing North towards the door that brought me into the room). To get out I have to press the green button that closes the pit next to me. I then have to take two steps forward (after the first step the teleport field is still on my left) On the second step I am on the first pressure pad in the room, which opens the pit behind me - essentially leaving me in the same state I was when I first entered the room....

I just tried this in the PC version and it definitely works as I remember. Are you sure you have removed all the objects from the pressure pad next to the green switch? It doesn't work if something is left on there. That tile must be empty before you teleport anything onto it, and it doesn't work if you simply throw something into the teleporter - you have to PLACE it in the teleporter on the ground.

That one was always a bugger, I remember taking ages until I figured the mechanism right the first time. But I also re-tried now and it is exactly as you say, Gambit: make sure the pressure pad is empty and place an item on the floor, you can gain ninja levels elsewhere ;o) Works fine...

That was it! The pressure pad wasn't empty! I worked it out about an hour after writing my last post (isn't that always the way!!), but due to the fantastic reliability of my broadband connection, wasn't able to get back online until I got into work this morning!!

So onto kill some pesky skelletons!

Thanks a lot for all your help.
