Magnifier?
Are there any uses at all for the magnifiers found in the game? I've found two, but I can't seem to do anything with them. Well, other than throwing them at monsters and using them to trigger touch-plates.
RE: Magnifier?
You can use it in lvL 10. Near the stairs to lvl 11 you`ll find an inscription that says "Enlarge my View" and an eye in the wall. Use the magnifier on the eye to remve a wall and gain a ruby key.
RE: Magnifier?
If I remember correctly, you can put anything up to the eye to open the wall (I may be wrong though)
RE: Magnifier?
I'm certain it's only the magnifier. I'm sure that not even the mirror of dawn (closest alternative object) doesn't work.

Re: Magnifier?
Mirror of dawn worked perfectly well both in DM for Amiga and original PC version.
Re: Magnifier?
Hmm never tried using a mirror on lvl 10(of course i don't remember what I did on that lvl).Well at least that solved the mystery of having 2 mirror of dawns

Re: Magnifier?
Actually, ANY object will open the wall, not only the magnifier (DM PC version at least). I suppose this is mistake. The actuator has not the good values. They put a 2 instead of a 3 if you really want to know ...

Re: Magnifier?
It is pretty obvious that they did the same thing in the Atari
version. The actuator specifies 'Magnifier' but the type is
two instead of three, just as in the PC version. They may have decided
to change it after playtesting because the Magnifier is difficult to
find and is not very close to where it is needed.

Re: Magnifier?
I seemt o recall tw0 maginifiers actually: one in level 6 (firestaff) and one in level 9 (scorpions) - am I wrong. Don''t think that is too complicated... although I always preferred the mirror of dawn ;)
Re: Magnifier?
Is there any use for the rabbit food?
I found some in the game and one charakter has it at the starting level,
but I discovered no use.

Re: Magnifier?
Rabbit FOOD?! I think you mean rabbit's foot, there certainly ain't any lettuces in this game. The rabbit's foot increases the chance of your character striking a creature by increasing an internal luck stat, apparantly.

Re: Magnifier?
The rabbit foot "slightly" enhances the hidden luck attribute, i.e. increased chances in combat for hits I imagine. Up to you if you take it with you, does not seem to do much. But it's small and will fit anywhere, so give it a try...
Re: Magnifier?
heheh rabbit food..that gives me an idea for a dungeon...

Re: Magnifier?
what if one character is wearing 2 or even 4 rabbit's feet? will the luck factor increase even more?
Re: Magnifier?
Yes it will. You can use the Magnifier to opperate wall buttons instead of using the mouse, if you want. I doubt you can gain levels of any kind from this though.
