First: Which Amiga emulator?
Also, which version of the game are you using? (One from here, I hope)

Re: DM amiga saved games?
Okee dokee, Let's try this:
First, check and make sure that BOTH files are in the proper directory. There is a game disk and a save game disk in the zip.
The uae config you downloaded points to the default install directory:
C:\Program Files\WinUAE\DungeonMasterAmiga36.adf
for the game disk, and
C:\Program Files\WinUAE\DungeonMasterAmiga36Savedisk.adf
for the save game disk.
Make sure that the files are there by loading WinUAE, load the config file and click on the tab marked floppies. Click on the "browse button (three periods) and make sure that they are pointed at the right adf files.
If you have to change the config in any way, make sure that you save it before running, so you won't lose the info.
Also make sure that the kickstart rom is in the right place that the uae file points to (I'm sure it does, but you never can tell...)
:)
OK, now start the program.
Start the game by entering the dungeon, and choosing your characters. Once you have your team selected, Click on the the three stat bars of any of your characters, and that will zoom in to show what that characters inventory is, their, stats, etc.
To the right the characters name is a little icon of a blue and white disk. Click on it, and a dialog will open saying put save disk in df1:, and gives you 4 choices:
Save / Quit / Format / Cancel
Choose save.
One thing you should know!
You can only save ONE game per save disk, so if you and your son are playing separate games, you must make a copy of the save game adf using a different name for the disk.
call it DungeonMasterAmiga36Savedisk2.adf
Then load up your uae config file, change the floppie save disk in df1 to your second disk, and save the modified uae config to something like "Dungeon Master 2"
Or name yours "My Game", and your son's to "Son's game"...
whatever you want.
That way all you do is choose a config file, load it and GO!
That way you can each have a different game going.
If this didn't solve your problem, I'll be back to check here on the board in a day or so, and we'll see what we can do from there...
Good luck
:)
