Magically Creating Food & Water

Hey there dungeon keeper gang,

I remember playing this game in its original manifestation on my Amiga, and I'm thrilled to find that there are those who remain to keep the flame of this great game alive. I've recently started puttering around with this game on an emulator, and have a single question. At one point, I had discovered how to create water in flasks, yet oddly enough I haven't seen this information repeated on any of the forums or spell lists i've seen while browsing this site and the rest of the internet. What runes are necessary for creating water? Also, if -water- is possible, can food be done as well?

Are you sure you don't mean potions? I don't know of any way to get water into flasks apart from opressing fountains. The list of spells in the DM section is a complete list

You can cheat and use DMute too, of course : )

Nope - I can understand your incredulity, but I most certainly -made- in a flask using a spell. I even had it written down in my old DM manual... (before my mother threw everything out after I left for school, that is). Alas, such secrets lost forever! Perhaps someone else might know, then?

Could have been an early version of the game had this in it. Poeple are ripping apart the CSB atari code, which is basically lifted right from DM. SO if it's hidden there, they might know...

Funny but...I once managed to create both Ful Bombs and Ven Bombs (into empty flasks) using certain magic....this was years ago..almost when the game first came out on the Atari ST.....not sure which version of the game but the box is still upstairs..just doesn't seem to work on an emulator. Probably version 1.x.............anyone ever done that or remember it?

Ven bombs have always been possible - cast ZO VEN into a flask. Ful Bombs on the other hand; well, no-one has yet managed to do it consistently and everyone that mentions 'they once did it' seems to have forgotten how. Convenient that...

I always reckon that it was possible in early games and taken out later for balance.
Look at the rune descriptions in the manual...FUL GOR xxx cries out FUL bomb...

Beowuuf, if what you say is true, that would be a fine explanation for the fact that the GOR rune is not used in any spell in recent versions.
Maybe it was used in early versions, and the spell(s) using it were removed for balance, making the rune useless...

lol, i have no knowledge nor have I ever created one (and like most people i tried every combination of spell with gor in it back in my amiga days). Just looking at the GOR rune description it specifically states its use in dangerous potions...so i've always thought this is what happened : )

My first experience with DM was on an Apple IIGS around 1990. My friend and I were so obsessed with spellcasting that we tried every possible combination of magic syllables and wrote down the results. Of course, I have no idea where those notes are now, but I specifically remember being able to create a VEN potion but not a FUL bomb, and food and water couldn't be created magically.
