Way to remove the limit?

Post by Robert »

Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to increase the number of "items" that can be left on the ground. What I mean is that there seems to be a limit (say 255) of any particular item. I once laid out a perfect trail of falchions & screamer slices from dungeon entrance to dungeon exit. The only problem is that after you've reached the magical number, pieces of the trail begin to disappear. I've tried combining it with Zokathra spells and scrolls, but the end result is always the same: As soon as I kill a skeleton, a falchion will disappear, or when I kill a screamer a slice will disappear. Any way to edit the program to prevent this from happening?

I've always wanted to be able to leave a perfect trail. This limitation interferes though. Any ideas?

The mechanics to keep the database manageable for generated items are hard coded into the engine, so no. You could use DMEdit to increase the initial amount of items available, so that you could have all the falchions, etc sitting near the entrance...though I'm guessing that's not part of the fun : )
CSB4windows has an option to remove this limit, but that requires getting the DM dungeon into it, which hasn't been tried yet.
Was unable to (permenantly) kill off ian_scho (Haynuus), Ameena, oh_brother (Westian), money (Falkor), raixel (Petal) and Lord_Bones (Aurek) in the DM D&D game Time's Champions!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THOSE WHO MADE THE GAME WHAT IT WAS - GREAT!
