Dragon Slaying

Post by Slick »

I'm sure nobody here by now has trouble with the great worm on level 14, but I'm curious to know what techniques others use to kill him. I tried this technique the first time I met him and it was easy, almost too easy.

First I prepare my party. I dig out my magic boxes, VEN potions, FUL bombs, and other attack items (ie fury, stormring). I prepare MON level fireballs and sleep to max out mana. Then I confront the beast.

If I spy him at long range I cut loose the fireballs while approaching. When I get up to him I freeze him with a magic box and toss a ven potion. Then I start using the attack items and tossing ful bombs. While this is going on my first ven bomb runs out so I toss another one, keeping a ven on him. When the freeze life wears off I hit him with a second magic box. Before the second magic box wears off the VEN bombs will have killed him when combined with all the ful bombs.

Anybody do it differently?

I agree, walking around and keeping behind him is good. It's a bit long, but also normally gains you a level on one of your fighters. I tend to keep my surplus VEN/FUL bombs and freeze life boxes for the demons above, incase they are clustered around the entrance above.

I just use Berzerk on him with my front two fighters. I only ever use the magical boxes and various bombs when trying to get The Inquisitor...but I usually don't ever use them and simply fight those stone golems there :>

In the middle of the hall of the dragon there is a single sqare pillar. You can move round it backward, while the dragon is following you. every time he spits fire at you, just take step to the side, every time he gets around a corner, blast him with MON fireballs or lightning bolts and with FUL-bombs, when mana is out. I didn´t even need all the FUL-bombs I stored for the dragon and he didn´t even do a single scrath to me.

I sneak up behind the dragon and freeze him and then pummel him with VEN and FUL bombs and MON fireballs..I do use the Fury and Lightning Bolt also but I usually keep some charges left over for the demons.

I cant believe this I was twelve when I first killed the Dragon, its easy.
Sleep, then freeze the bloody thing under a pit, scooby doo upto the above level, jump down corresponding pit on top of him. Hooaah Dragon steaks all round.

Ps can you still buy this game for the PC

Heh I have yet to try that method(the pit thing). That sounds really funny dropping on a huge dragon and killing it Mario style(hmm maybe there's a way to make a signature gif out of that :D ).
