Amiga A1200
I've bought an A1200 with a 400Mb harddrive, I have an original copy of DM but I am unable to load it (I think I need an early copy of kickstart). Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Re: Amiga A1200
The Amiga 1200 uses a newer chipset that won't load DM properly. There's two things you can do:
1) Boot the Amiga in compatibility mode. When you switch the Amiga on, hold down the left and right mouse buttons and you'll enter a menu. Select the OCS chipset from the options and use these settings to reboot. Make sure the DM disk is in the drive, and it should load.
2) If the above doesn't work, using ReloKick 1.3 definitely does work. This is a program that simulates the 1.3 Kikstart rom. You can find it on the web as a DMS file which will need to be extracted on the Amiga to a blank floppy disk. This can be fiddly if you don't know what you're doing. I have ReloKick somewhere on a floppy and can send you a disk -- email me privately if you need it and we'll sort something out. (click my name above this message).
