non-computer game?
Does anyone know if there has ever been a card or board game version of Dungeon Master made? A card game might work well with the familiar heroes, monsters, items, dungeon setting etc. One player could play the heroes collecting item and spell cards while the other plays the DM, playing Screamer, Skeleton, Mummy cards etc....... It could get complex with keeping track of all the mana/stamina/health and food/water but perhaps with a little simplification and creativity...?

Re: non-computer game?
you can adapt dm to ad&d, should be not too difficult, but you still have to improvise a lot.
but dm isnt a good basic for a pen+paper, because it has no complex story or dialogues (of course you could implement this and only play a dm-based adventure).
another possibility would be a magic the gathering-like card game^^
but this are just ideas, i dont know of any game like that.

Re: non-computer game?
yes a Magic the Gathering style game could work well, it would probably need a few alterations to allow for different features, such as the closed doors, pits, treasures etc., one of the aspects I like about Dungeon Master is the building up of the hero characters, and how the more experience they get, the more capable they become, anyway, thanks for your quick response :)

Call Mr.Garfield or design us a DM-CG - second solution is certainly cheaper ;)

The Games Workshop "Advanced Hero-Quest" game is a lot like Dungeon Master.

Maybe you could rebuild the dungeon master dungeon using hero quest and a few of your own made up pieces to create the things that the board game doesn't have.... and voila, play DM when your pc is broken!
