A new competition idea

Post by PaulH »

Anybody thought of a competition using RTC? Georges Hall of Champions feature proves to be a great source of game stats and therefore a well of comp ideas (ie shortest distance, time, highest points, MKs, etc...). I just posted a RTC module to him in the DMRTC section and scored rather lowly.

Obviously it is easy to save and reload until you perfect a game if you are that boring, (you know you are out there!) but hey, should be fun...

I think even with reloading there is enough of a challenge. I think, that a quick game is rewarded best in that system, and I don't think that you get well into a quick game, if you're saving every other second.

Nobody interested??? I thought of fastest game, least distance and highest points using one man of your choice.

Why not starting a competition for the highest RTC-score first, before getting more special?

Yeah lets go for it. I am very unsure how the scoring system works for this. George's page lists some individuals scoring in the tens of thousands, but all my scores are in three figures, black writing (with some components in red - are these negative? They don't add up unless there is a missing exponential). I just had a go at clearing (most) of the dungeon with two men, and finished in 3hrs 5 mins and 30k. Leif scored 990, Azizi 975 but I haven't a clue what it means!

And I just completed it one man, in 53 minutes and 10 seconds, 13.7km with a total score of 330= which is even quicker than my CSBDM record... I shall post it to Sir George.

The red scores are negative I think.

Ooooo - You're so close to working out the scoring system; all the information you need is in this thread already...just put it all together ;-)

ahh, the power signs are the exponents... 3 figure scores x 10^(-1+power sign level) ie lo=1, mon=6 or something similar to this form. Red is -ve.
