Hi all
I'm using....
version 9.5 of CSB for Windows / Linux
version 1.4 of Dmute
When I try and open either dungeon.dat or csbgame.dat I get a "Not a recognised save game file". These files are in the "modules\dungeon master-atari\original DM" directory.
Does Dmute work of with CSBwin generated files ?

Re: Dmuting CSBwin csbgame.dat
Similarly, does CSBuild support Amiga .dat files? It doesn't open any Amiga files that I've tried...

Re: Dmuting CSBwin csbgame.dat
=================================
I doubt that DMute will ever be updated to read the
CSBwin save files. If George wants to do that, I will
be more than happy to help but I think he probably
is too busy with RTC. (And not interested, besides!)
However!!!! The dungeon.dat file in:
"dungeon master-atari\original DM"
has NOT (repeat NOT) been modified by me in any
way. It is the original file from the Atari disk.
Therefore, your statement of "CSBwin generated files"
presumes something that is not true.
It is in big-endian format of course; perhaps if you
converted it to little-endian DMute could read it.
====================================
There was no attempt to read Amiga files with CSBuild.
I have never tried it.
I cannot see the utility of it because after editing with
CSBuild the files could only be used by CSBwin. Having
said that, if you see some use for such a capability, let
me know and send me an Amiga game file. There may
be some very small difference that CSBuild can easily be
taught to accomodate.
