Does the dungeon pass the CSBuild checks?
CSBuild is supposed to find problems like this before you
release a dungeon to CSBwin.
If it passes CSBuild's checks then I would like a copy
of the dungeon so that we can fix one or the other
of CSBuild/CSBwin.

Re: converting dm/pc -> csb4win
okok, my fault. i already knew that question was stupid.
csbuild gave me several errors on the dungeon check (this will end in v1.4).
but it isnt easy to correct them because after the check, the window simply closes. and i cant copy/paste the text, so i have to make the check after every fixed bug.
any way to improve that? maybe an option to jump to the error or to work with the status-window opened.
thats the dungeon:

i removed the "duplicated object" (which happened to be clear space) and made the other checks...maybe you check the result by yourself...its 100s of bugs :(

Re: converting dm/pc -> csb4win
==========================================
Several 'Orphaned' objects. What can we do about that?
If I were more confident that CSBuild is perfectly correct then
I could simply discard them. Perhaps I will go through the
code very carfully to make sure I really account for every object
in the dungeon and provide a way to discard those 'orphans'.
==There are objects attached to cells
==Objects in chests.
==Objects in monsters possessions
==Objects in party's possession.
==Objects in missiles in flight.
What have I missed????
How did your orphans get there in the first place????????
Maybe you should ask the author of the editor that you
used if he/she can stop leaving these orphans lying about.
Another thing I suppose we could do is provide an option
to ignore these orphans. They are ugly but they don't interfere
with proper operation of the game.
===========================================
A couple pits with walls underneath. That sounds easy.
===========================================
Two "teleports party into a wall". But it gives no hint
where the teleporter is. I better fix that!
===========================================
I will add a pushbutton that dumps the text in these error
dialogs to a file.
===========================================
So I will make those two changes to CSBuild. Does that answer
your questions/requests? Did I miss anything?

Re: converting dm/pc -> csb4win
many thx, these 2 improvement and the fact that these "orphans" wont interfere with the game help me enough to bugfix it :)
i think i got the orphans there by chesting with dmute (as described in beowuufs hexguide: make a pile on the floor, change some hex etc)
oh, and another question: after i fixed my dungeon, would you include it to the downloadable version of csb4win? :)

Re: converting dm/pc -> csb4win
As for including it with CSBwin.......
Christophe is the one who will have to decide about
what should be included with the download. It is his
web-site.
But ziped dungeons are pretty small. Yours was 18K.
I guess that, if asked, I would vote to put several dungeons
in the download. I would very much like to restrict them
to 'well-tested' designs (whatever that might mean) so that
the total package is relatively stable and 'professional'.
I think yours would qualify as you have responded to
playtesters reports and are fixing bugs.
Another thought: Some people might like their designs
to be 'encrypted' so that it is not easy to peek into them
with an editor. In that case, a CSBwin.exe must accompany
the dungeon and that makes it a LOT bigger.
I am working on CSBuild today. Perhaps a new release
within a couple days. I do want to be careful about
discarding objects. If I make a mistake the cure will be
worse than the disease.

Re: converting dm/pc -> csb4win
Including all custom dungeons in the download is a good idea for newcomers.
I'll see what I can do. I'd like to have a small program allowing the user to easily choose which dungeon to play.
After the next site update (hopefully soon) I'll work on this. I also have to work on migrating these forums to the new DM forums here:
http://www.dungeon-master.com/forum/.
The two upload forums will stay here because uploads are not possible there. The General forum will stay too for site news/comments.

Re: converting dm/pc -> csb4win
ok, so im waiting for a new version and will go bugfixing then :D
i think, v1.4 or latest 1.5 will be ready to count as fully playable and bugfree dungeon ;)
>>I'd like to have a small program allowing the user to easily choose which dungeon to play.
yeah, that would be very cool :)

this should be easier, some bytes changed and no editor will be able to open the dungeon again ;)
of course beeing hardcoded in the exe would be nice, too, and it would be a honor for me to supply a dungeon for that.
