1) CSBwin should replace tiles of the 8th type by floor instead of wall by default because this 8th type tile worked as a floor. The teamdungeon has one. Conflux another two.
2) If already mentioned it, but CSBwin96d still has it: because I renamed the dagger and falchion, I always get the smartdiscard error message. If I don't rename them, there is no error. This should not be.
3) CSBwin cannot load a savegame if the dungeon is encrypted.
4) About the recording process: you must keep your savegame in order to play back the sequence starting with a load operation. But you only have 4 slots for savegames. So after you record for the 5th time (the first recording doesn't need any savegame), you won't be able to continue recording new sequences without replacing a savegame, thus rendering a old recording unusable.
Of course you can backup everything manually. But I think the process is too complex to be followed by people who just want to play.
I suggest things happening this way:
If you record and start a new game, then create a new log with a new ID. When you save the game the ID will also be stored in the savegame.
If you record but load a savegame, then append the recording to the log with the correct ID (contained in the savegame). If there is no such log, then create it with this ID.
5) Is it possible to create a batch file to run CSBwin with a parameter "-record"? (in order to force a recording by default)

1) OK. Carded
2) Already on my list of things to do.
3)Hmmmmmm. Fails for me, too. Must have
overlooked something somewhere.
4) Recording. Old recording useless unless all savegames
are backed up:
This is not quite true. As long as you still have the
original starting file and ALL of the recordings then you
can recreate any of the other savegames. Let us say that
you threw away all of the save games except the first.
Replay the first recording.....it contains a 'Save' command
that will re-create the next save game. Etc., etc., etc.
Moreover, if you have ALL the recordings, they can be
spliced together to make one large recording and then you
would only need the first dungeon.dat or savefile.
So the player really need not worry about the savegames.
He just needs to remember to record everything. This
is equivalent to your suggestion to 'append' except that
appending is done later by another program. And appending
is not that easy! I will not try to explain all the details because
I would have to rediscover them myself. But splicing two
files requires that data in the two files must be modified. They
are not simply 'appended' as you would do with a text editor.
Moreover, a player may restart from the same savegame
many times and if I appended to the original file each time then
there would be a great deal of 'junk' in the recording. The
program that splices these files knows enough to discard such
failed attempts.
5) -record option for CSBwin: No, this is not possible. But it
will be in the next version. Carded.
Moreover, I will make it an option in the game file so that the
designer can cause it to happen automatically unless the player
explicitly turns it off.

zyx: There seem to be quite a few bugs/features that you need
to get your masterpiece into production. I hope you can give
me time to get them all working/implemented. I don't want
to rush into these things with makeshift solutions. They all
deserve a bit of time and attention. I want it to be a big success
because it appears that it will be a showcase for a CSBuild
design. I want it to be solid. So I hope you can gather together
a lot of patience. It will be worth it, IMHO. The success is going
to be in all these details.

No problem, there is no rush. Although I'd wish I could get rid of this dungeon, as the design is done and I playtested everything already once, I still have to do more playtesting (1 week), wait for Beowuuf's reports(he will start in 2 weeks), and modify the dungeon in consequence(1 week more).
So I won't be able to release it before december -unless someone else playtest it-.
And then of course I need to test the next version of CSBwin.
Paul I hope you won't get disappointed if tell you that I didn't use any DSA. I leave them for the next version of Conflux!

Sometimes after dying and reloading I get an error message stating that the database has changed in size. However I didn't edit anything - I swear!

Well there is a problem here because I changed the graphics and they don't look very great. What's more, some decorations are just meant to prove that graphics are customizable. I don't have the talents to produce graphics of high quality and I don't really want to invest much time in them either. So maybe if you put too many hopes in this dungeon you'll get disappointed. I suggest you take a look at the graphics (i will list you which ones are modified) to see what I mean. Maybe you'll come up with an idea to improve them. I have never been too interested in the graphics.
These 1024 by 768 engines have no more appeal to
me than the 320 by 200 of DM. You could put the
word 'AXE' in place of the picture and I would be happy.
What is great about your dungeon is its size and
complexity. I have not tried playing it but it looks
enormous.
The 'Changed size' error is not at all nice. I want very
badly to fix it. You load a game, die, and restart the
same game? Or....you load a game, save, die, and
restart from the saved game? In either case, if you can
provide the game you initially load and a recording and
instructions telling me the sequence of operations, then
it is probable that I can find and fix the problem.

Zyx:
Here is what I tried. I built a prison. I started CSBwin and
'Entered'. I resurrected a character. I saved. I banged my
head on the wall till I was dead. I restarted from the save.
It worked OK.
Perhaps there are clones or something in your dungeon
that are causing it to change size. I don't know exactly how
this would happen but it is the onbly thing I can think of.
