Test your strength / bug fix(es?) needed

Post by Big-J-Q »

I don't want to sound selfish, too-demanding moron, but currently RTC is somewhat unplayable; Currently I'm stuck with the "Test your strength"-puzzle, because of the well-known "objects-hit-the-walls-but-don't-trigger-the-pads-beneath-them"-bug.

Er, sorry about that.

For what it's worth I've fixed the "objects don't fly at all" problem - it actually effects any object that was (when the game started up) in a chest or carried by a monster (or both) and is currently on the same level (plus or minus one) to the one on which it started (don't ask why!).

Still havn't found the pad problem though; will look some more tonight if I get a chance - I'd like to think that V0.11 will be out within a few days, but we'll have to see how it goes...

this item pad thing, from what people are saying it's only when an object hits a wall and 'falls' ontop of it.

could it be a problem with how the engine updates information? Something similar to the thrown items pass through monsters if they are moving thing? basically it's action is being interrupted and rather than continue it's just repaced on the ground.. but the tile doesn't get the chance to check for new items. It just makes me wonder.. like if you have a set of instructions that need to be followed when an object is placed/thrown on the ground, and you interrupt that string of commands is it missing important bits of the instructions?

i obviously have no idea but I figured I would mention this anyway.
