seeing red

Post by cowsmanaut »

George, I'm not sure if this was discussed at one point but I was wondering if you might like to include an effect. When getting hit we see little "pow" graphics appear but perhaps something more obvious might be a nice addition. A colour shift to a reddish colour would be good to indicate instantly that you are suffering pain.

Also annother, again cosmetic idea, is to shift quickly to dark when falling asleep and then shift quickly up back to whatever the current light level is. It's just a sort of neat thing to show you are passing out or waking up and it's already there as you have gradual shifts in light levels for the actual lighting in the engine.

Yeah, I like these ideas; would really add to the overall atmosphere of the game. :D

Implemented the sleep thing for V0.27. It now takes about 10s or so for you to fully wake up and open your eyes after sleeping.

I'm not convinced about the screen going red whenyour hit though. Its a bit too much like quake and a bit too not like DM for me. DM is quite sanitised in terms of violence - monsters don't "look" damange and when they die just vanish in a puff of smoke; having the screen go red doesn't seem consistent with that way of doing things to me.

Thinking the same. Actually, we both posted in the wrong thread Beowuuf - you chose archive and I bugs... should be in suggestions ;o)

actually this was in suggestions and got moved to the archive after it's been implemented. GG always moves the posts once he's done with them.

It's the easiest way to clean up what has and has not been done.

Allright, so it was only my fault. I can deal with that. Really, I can, I assure you...
