I was game-testing V0.27 (DM, original version) last night and found some things that bothered me.
The main one: When standing at 3(10,29) in the worm level in front of the drain trying to get out the hidden gold key, the game crashed. I reloaded and encountered the same effect. No logs, warnings or whatever found or displayed. Not a problem for getting stuck but serious.
The movements seem to be a little behind my key commands. If I move about quickly (no weight problems or injuries) the fifth or sixth command normally does not get carried out and I end up bumping into a wall when automatically typing the next move sequence. No big thing - but noticable. I checked with V0.23... it's a little better there. (Best comparison I can offer is CSBwin, it does not "forget" moves even if 7 or 8 are made and the first or second one is still caried out when I'm done typing)
Also, sleeping is pretty boring. I have to admit it's the same in V0.23, but maybe the process can be speeded up a little. It takes between half and a full minute to recover the mana of a ~100 points mage - if there's no reason about the engine being extremely busy in the meanwhile I would vote for a shortening of that period. Again, I'm used to CSBwin, so let me know what you think about that.
When using transient light steps it also takes pretty long when waking up - ~20 seconds to full light level. Was also the same before, just noticed again now.
When not caching objects having a pile of about 30 on one floor tile slows down mouse movements visibly - is that intended? I was just testing and my machine is above the recommended 64MB RAM but still... ?

Some more observations:
* When sleeping and immediately waking up again it is still pitch dark - maybe you should only go to full darkness level after a few seconds because it takes so long to get lighter again. Judging from the speed my characters eyes are opening he ust have glue attached to his lids...
* I came to the screamer room on level 3 (not counting the Hall of Champion's) and trained for my levels, being fully rested with all the stats and full food. After fighting several rounds and each time casting spells for mana training I slept about 5-6 times before my food and water level reached half. This is pleasant but is it also normal? I could probably carve my own palace out of the wall near the screamer room without having to go and look for food since it seems to take so long until I have to eat/drink again.
* When fighting I sometimes experience that a "new level" is not indicated (since the blows are dealt in rapid succession I imagine), but I would request that this should always be done. Is it possible this is a problem of my computer (graphic card etc...)?
* I'm playing with a single character (Gothmog) and have reached Adept Ninja and Crastmen Fighter level by now - my strength is still a whopping 38 (started with reincarnated character). Am I just having bad luck with my stats increases - is that normal?

A quick run through...
- Gold key crash; genuine bug - entirely my fault!
- Movement behind; covered by another thread in suggestions
- Sleeping; raised a new thread in suggestions
- Waking; naff behaviour so I changed it
- Drawing objects is CPU limited, if you've got lots on the floor then it will take ages to draw :-(
- Waking; as above!
- Food drain when sleeping; another bug (it was going down at normal rate, not sleep rate)
- Level indication; another bug hopefully fixed but not sure - I'll keep my eye out for this
- Stats; I think you're just unlucky ;-(
