EDITOR: Deletes commented objects when saving

Post by Gambit37 »

I commented out some of my [New - Objects] and reloaded the txt file into the editor. The next time I saved using the editor It had deleted all the commented objects out of the file! I haven't teste dthis with sounds/bitmaps but it's possible the behaviour may be the same.

Can you prevent this behaviour please?

The behavious *will* be the same for any non-dungeon thing anywhere (i.e. comments spacing, order of sections). The Editor just loads in the dungeon and saves it out again - i.e. it does not store a copy of the text file.

As to whether it should be changed; don't know - I'll put this as a suggestion as you have a good point and it would be nice if it saved that sort of thing.

Yeah, I realise preserving the file structure/format accurately is difficult. It took macromedia several dot versions of Dreamweaver before their 'roundtrip' HTML formatting preservation worked properly.

Be cool if you colud somehow do it tho!

:( OK. I'd better start keeping my notes in a separate file then. Thanks for the clarification.
