Over-ride the built in difficulty auto-scaler.

Post by copperman »

At present it isn't possible to use "Super Parties" in RTC because the engine auto-scales the dungeon difficulty. I suggest giving the dungeon designer the ability to over-ride that action. Let's face it, it didn't matter to CSB how hard the party you imported from DM was. Although it's a nice feature, you may want to turn it off.

I'd even suggest to give the Designer the possibility of overriding individual difficulty/party-adaption settings, like monster speed adaption, monster strength adaption, food drain adaption, stamina adaption etc.
That way I could finally play RTC again the way I like it by simply altering those settings (although that would disqualify me for Hall-Of-Fame purposes, but I'd be willing to accept that).

Based on the assumption that you still need the txt file for editing anything (or has that been changed already?) I'd support the notion. If everything becomes customizable why not the characters stats and dungeon difficulty as well. It's simply one play option, like the spell book.
