Okay I just thought that I would add my own little info into the pot on issues I have found while using the Editor for v0.28. Some of these will be things that have already been posted, that I have confirmed as being a bug.
1. When you goto Levels - Add, you get a critical error when you try to create a new level smaller than 32x32.
2. When you goto Reources - Add and Replace Bitmaps, it reports the size as being XxY (Axis). When you go to add or replace a bitmap, it says X-Offset and Y-Offset respectively, it means Y-Offset and X-Offset respectively. Meaning that when you put in -24 and 0 it reads as 0x-24 when you click OK. (Not really a problem, just annoying. It should be easy to switch.)
3. Confirmed that the editor still reports as v0.26 in the title bar.
4. When you goto Setup - Characters - Add You see a whole slew of values. It would be nice to be able to use TAB to bove between these values. (right now you have to use the mouse)
5. When you add new characters, the new character does not appear in the edit characters menu. Only in the Party menu; meaning that after you create a character, you can't edit their attributes again.
6. When you goto Setup - Characters - Add there is a frame called Experience Levels. When you try to delete the zero value, a message box pops up saying "Please enter a Number". It then replaces the zero. This is obviously an annoyance. The message should come after you press OK to make sure that there are values present. Otherwise you must type in the value, then delete the zero.
7. When you goto Setup - Monster Hints and add one of your own. The Hint does not save when you click OK.
8. Setup - Location Hints. When you add a new location hint it does not add the title of the location hint added, nor does it allow you to edit or delete the added hint.
9. Setup - Object Hints. Same problem as with the Location Hints.
10. Setup - End Game Text (Repeat and First Time). When you add a line, the word "TEXT" automatically shows up on the first line. This also stays there even if you press cancel. I just wish that this was removed.
11. Resources - Add and Replace Bitmaps. When you add a new bitmap, the new bitmap automatically takes on the name of the bitmap file. I wish there was a way that you could change the name of the bitmap without having to change the name of the file.
12. This one is just an annoyance, and is not really an editor thing, but the portrait of Mophus for DM Enhanced is the same as the origional Mophus. Anyone have the Enhanced version they can send to GG to include? (I haven't been able to find it either.)
13. Any possibility for an error log for the editor itself? I have had it randomly crash every now and then, but with no error log, and me not quite sure what I did that may have caused it... I am at a loss.
14. Confirmed that there is some sort of problem in creating a trigger to fireball holes. I got an error message as well.
While I am writting, I may as well include a few game problems that I have seen in v0.28
1. Dissapearing Act! While loading, I have noticed that sometimes the word Dungeon appears, but not Master. Another time the exit button was not there on the dungeon enterance, but I was still able to click there to exit.
2. I don't remember this being an issue in past releases, but perhaps it was. In Config.txt (being Tab Delimited) It only allows one tab between Compile and the file name. (again, this is not really a problem, it just anoyed me once when I put two and it didn't try to compile)
Well GG here is my list, I hope that you can use it. Some of these are really smal things, some of them are really big. The editor is really comming along and doing quite well. Wish you the best luck in your efforts! --Cheers!
Anyone else find any bugs in v0.28?
