Don't know if it's worth anything, since I'm a newbie and you're all old hands here, but I've experienced the "cannot find" thing several times since joining. I couldn't access the forum at all last night (Saturday night). It's okay because I probably shouldn't be checking the forum as often as I try to anyway
(I'm a forum addict if I let myself) but if you're trying to find out if anyone else has that same problem, well ... I do. I check forums compulsively. If you'd like, I can keep a log of when I have trouble connecting, if it happens again. Would that do any good? I'm in the U.S, central standard time.

Having been on the forums around midnight for the last few nights, I can now safely say that the "cannot find" error starts happening sometime after midnight. I've been able to continue posting until around 00:15 but after that things just go screwy.
I never know when it comes back on as I'm in bed, but it's always fine in the morning.

yeah I'm on then too.. pretty much from noon untill 3am on days off.. or 9am to 12pm on workdays. I may not be on *all* the time but often during those hours.
The timing your describe Gambit, seems to be close to around the time they might service your local servers or link stations or whatnot.. I get the same here around 1am.. it always when they start doing updates or system checks and my net goes out or is slow or just generally flaky.

was just now not able to connect
got this message:
phpBB : Critical Error
Could not connect to the database
checked via ping www.dungeon-master.com
and it timed out.
well, it seems the board gets bogged down and then crashes completely.

I have also noticed some failures on January 5th and 6th. As they mentioned on here:
http://www.cesky-hosting.cz/odstavky-a-vypadky.html
there were some difficulties with "kernel panic" due to some network cark driver on Jan 6th. Something similar happened on 5th, they did reboot...

Talk about ironic:
"http://www.cesky-hosting.cz/ could not be found. Please check the name and try again."
That's at 19:39, Monday 10th January 2005. Odd that these forums are OK though...
