Help! How do I...

Post by Lee »

...change drive letter after booting XP comp with the BootDisk.exe utility found on the Encyclopaedia?

The path of the DM.exe I want to access is D:\DM Series\DM\DM.exe

I would know how to get there normally but when I boot with the bootdisk and I choose the Soundblaster option suited to me, it leaves me with the prompt sitting at A:\

That's fine too, but when I type D:\ to change the drive it won't let me do it :(

Any ideas?

And yes I know about RTC because I have that also lol but I'd really like to play the custom dungeons for DMPC, and as far as I know using DMPC is the only way to do it. I know some are available for CSBWin too but I would prefer to play with footstep sounds :P

type 'D:'

to change directories type 'cd \DM Series\DM\'
Except forget the sapce, as DOS won't see spaces

Oops, read your thing properly - you won't be able to if your drive is formated to ntfs2, which it might well be with XP : (

You can convert the custom dungeons from PC DM to CSBwin by just openign them and saving them in the CSBuild editor. Make sure you have the setting to 'expert' and allow everything, but the engine should cope with everything by now...

Ahh, drive partitions and all that jazz. Yeah no doubt it's NTFS and not the (guessing) required FAT format

Oh well, thanks Beo, I'll try that right after I'm done playing the custom RTC dungeons!

I started those while waiting for replies to this lol.
