Animated Armour freeze problem

Post by ADDF_Toxic »

I met my first animated armour in level 12. I went to the stairs to rest upstairs, then walk down and shoot him. But now, I shoot 2 lightning bolts, and it freezes when it hits!
Any suggestions?
Thanks

What version are you playing? An emulated Amiga/Atari, CSBwin, RTC, DM Java? Never heard of this in the normal versions of the game, so soudns like an engine glitch...

i really can't understand why people are still playing this version for original DM dungeon, while there are csbwin and rtc which are perfect for it...

Hmm, on the original PC DM? Interesting...

How long have you bee playing the game? Some things go screwy in a game that is played too long (for example you have been sitting training in rooms generating alot of additional monster dropped food and weapon items) - heard of frozen lightning bolts before!

linflas-I like the old version because it's just like on the Atari ST that doesn't work anymore. RTC is like it, but I found it after I got to level 12 and it has shiny mirrors and stuff.
Beo-Like I said to linflas, I've played it on ST, but the PC version I've been playing since February 15, 2005. I do like the generator rooms, I sat there for a while. Actually, I just zoomed right past. Much faster than on ST, we only got to level 6 in a much longer time, also playing six games. So you think I should try the harm non-material being spell?
And wow were you ever up early. Both of you.

csbwin IS an exact port of the atari st version (maybe you can load your dungeon.dat saved game into it ?)

You need to load the dungeon through CSBuild first - it will convert the dungeon from little to big endian (the difference between PC and Atari formats). Save it, then play through CSBwin - should work fine

And 10.46am isn't early really...

Countries of the world exist in dfferent time zones. When you're alseep (I assume you're in America?), many of us Europeans are awake. You can use the Profile button at the top of the page to change the timezone if you like so that you can see the time differences between countries.

I thought it showed in my time zone, but now I understand the "All times are GMT - 6 Hours" on the bottom of my page.
And the CSB thing, I press play dungeon master-atari and it will convert ant man from in the editor back to trollin and stuff?

Materializers are easy if you use vorpal blades; and cast a decent fireshield.
Just swap your main melee weapon with the vorpal weapons as soon as you encounter materializers. Switch immediately back if they are vanquished.
just for info. :)
