There's this show on Sky One called "Brainiac - Science Abuse". Basically they do scientific experiments in a lighthearted way, often involving the blowing up of caravans or microwaves . They did an experiment to see if coke would dissolve a tooth - they put a tooth in a glass of coke, left it overnight, then checked it. It had, like, black coke stainy stuff over it, but it certainly wasn't dissolved. Not even half gone.

Yeah, Mythbusters did soemthing similar with the 7 great myths about coke - apparently it will clean chrome bumpers like anythign, everything else (like cleanign a penny, instantly disolving meat, etc) was a slight exageration - but coke will disolve teeth eventually! I am sure it depends on it there is a chip in the top enamel to get underneath or not...

Oh, and I think with flashchat it just depends, if two regulars hit the place at roughtly the same time, then it tends to mean anyone else coming passed gets caught up - so it's all timing I guess!

We fixed that FlashChat problem last night. Ameena left us about 2:30 am, followed by Dark, but Zyx, PaulH and myself stayed until about 3:45 am. Interestingly, it took almost another hour to crawl into my bed, only to wake up again at 8 am. I am surprised I can still open my eyes.

Haven't been around there for a long time. I'm slowly setting myself better routines and trying to improve my lifestyle, so it's unlikley I'll ever be on the computer after 11pm now. What little time I will have on the computer I am trying to organise into proper blocks of time to work on each of my projects. I just check the forums from time to time and maybe at the weekend (like now). That's pretty much me out of the picture as far as chat goes then!

Just back to the tooth thing... OK it was an old and porous milk tooth, and whether my science teacher doctored the solution I do not know, but it weren't there in the morning... And certainly shines tarnished pennies (not the old really brown ones)

Hey, you were missed last night Paul! If you and Ameena had came passed, that would have been seven people at the same time...some sort of record...

Yeah, I'm trying to set myself bettre routines too, and tend to be awake really early rather than really later - but this week I went back on them...ah well : )

Beo, what does your new 'title' mean? If you transpose a couple of letters it reads 'dammit gonad'. You're not having, er, a few man problems are you?!

LOL Paul. I think he refers to a phrase he often mutters while playing... Read the thread about weird things to do when playing DM.

I've been busy with other things lately... But once I get less busy, you should see me there again at all times. ;)

I've been there last week few times and saw Dark coming and going few times while I was idle, and Ameena once.

I'm really glad my spelling isn't as bad as all that. Then again, I could blame it on poor little gonad

I mean GANOD!

My girlfriend broke up with me today after almost 17 months, and I don't really know what to feel. I am actually sort of relieved since we didn't do much together anymore, but it still hurts and feels strange. I don't really know why I post this here; probably because I like several people on these boards quite a lot. Oh well, nevermind, I am confused right now.

Sorry to hear that, but sometimes these things maybe are for the best, especially if it was beginning to go a bit stale. Been there several times myself. Plenty more screamers in the dungeon/fish in the sea!

I always try and look on the bright side. You have more time to play DM now!

Seriously though, chin up, it'll all feel better in a few days and make more sense.

I am now truly convinced I am psychic! I just correctly answered two questions on the TV before they had even read the questions out! This was Mastermind too, spooky!

Now, if only I could read Zyx's mind...

Just more proof you are really gifted Paul, you also read my mind a few days ago in the inn! Maybe you should join the army so we have more chances against the bugs... That would probably help against the snail invasion, too. Argh, I definitely watched Starship Troopers too often...

I guess you are right about me and my girlfriend... But it still feels a bit strange, especially since this was my first "real" girlfriend and will probably remain the only one for quite some time (I am a geek, after all).

Trantor it happens sometimes. don`t think about it. go to some party or or something you`ll forget!
(I was in these situations allready, so I know something about it! The worst thing you can do now is sitting at home and thinking about it all 24 hours around. Just forget about her and go partying 8) or find something to do!!!!!!!!1 :D )
dont worry you`ll forget :D

I remember what I did when I split up with my girlfriend of two years... went out clubbing, met a girl who I had not seen for just over two years and got with her! Adamo speaks well, try to enjoy yourself a little! That beer Zyx keeps mentioning helps as well...

Maybe I'll have to post some psychic predictions

Breaking up with someone is much more painful when you're not the one doing the breaking. So I never understand why people say things like "Plenty more fish in the sea" and "Go and do partying, etc and you'll forget".... probably you don't want to forget and probably you don't want another fish -- you wanted the one you already had.

Yes, it sucks Trantor. I know that doesn't help you right now, but lots of us have been there, and I can certainly empathise with you. But don't forget about her -- remember all the good times you had together with fondness and eventually you will come to accept it even if it's painful and isn't what you want.

Play some DM to take your mind off it.

People say "Plenty more fish in the sea" at these times just out of habit ie its a cliche.

But getting out and doing stuff helps relieve depression and clears the mind and I'll stick by that.

Wow, I am really impressed at the sheer number of quick supporting replies. Thanks to everyone! I'll just have to accept it since I have no choice anyway, and I am sure I will manage. Right now, I feel a bit empty, not sure what to think or feel. Guess I'll have to put my mind more on DM right now. Thanks again for your support!

About that beer Paul: Thanks for the tip, but I don't drink any alcohol.

I can only speak from my own experience,
If the relation had lost its meaning, then it's a good thing, on the long term, to have made a final cut, even if you didn't take the initiative, however painful it can be now.

But if you're still craving for her, you'll have a hard time to forget. Instead of solving your uneasy state by putting your mental energies into it, wondering about the why and how, you would only maintain it. Thoughts are of little control on such deep, inner feelings; in fact the reverse seems truer.

The best way I know to recover is devoting yourself to an intense, immersive activity until pain sinks into oblivion.
