Bug/paradox: Level 10 and 6

Post by Atnaw »

I remember when I used to play the original on my amiga. on level 10 there is an eye switch that needs to be pressed with the "mirror of dawn". In the RTC version you need the "magnifier". The problem is to get the magnifier you need to get through a door on level 6 that needs the "ruby key". But to get the ruby key you need the magnifier. I can't find any other posts on this or maybe im just missing something but I have a good memory and per the RTCeditor (used as a last resort) this is the case.

You always needed the maginifier (as far as I know) to activate the eye switch in level 10, I used to play the Amiga game too

There is also a maginifier lying out in the open at the end of level 9 in a small room before the stairs

You mean level 11.

In some versions of the original FTL game, a bug lets you use any item to operate the eye, so you could click it with a rabbit foot if you wanted and it would still open.

There's a magnifier in a small open room to the north of level 10.

Ha, simultaneous posting. And I number from level 1. Hence even more confusion.

Before the level 9 stairs there is a small sectoned off room - you need to approach it from the north set of cirridors - it has a cross switch in it that, if you press, teleports you back half a level to the start of the scorpion area. Lying on the floor should also be the magnifier

Check the area out in the editor to see it
