Axe in supplies for the quick

Hi folks!

Is it possible to reach the axe in the supplies for the quick without falling down the pit?

It's just a timing thing. Wait a bit before you step on the tile with the axe, so the pit opens and closes again behind you, then take a step back before the pit underneath you opens. Sounds simple and actually just takes a little practice.
