DM V3.6. Char-> CSB (Winuae)

Post by Mike »

Sorry for opening a new thread, I asked in the csb forum already but i saw that for a long time no one was posting there. So i try here again.

I am using winuae version 1.0.0

I playes dm german version 3.6 which I downloaded from this site. I am through so I want to start with csb which I also downloaded from tis site. I did a lot of training since I want to have a strong party in csb. I do want to use the amiga versions because of the old days.

I wasnt able to format a save disk for dm. So I dowloaded the amigahints.ad f (for dm) from this site, put in df1 and formated it in dm so I could save a game. The name of the disk is DungeonMasterAmigaHints.adf
it worked fine

Now I want to import the party in csb. It says cant find disk. After reading through the whole forum I didnt really find an answer besides the on in the csb forum. I am sure that I just have to rename the savedisk into the name that csb expects. Here is my question. Does anyone know what I am supposed to name that disk? I tried dmsave.adf and dungeonmastersave.adf and all kinds of variations but none worked.

If you know an answer pls let me know. I am so anxious to play :-)

tnx Mike

P.S. great site

First of all, the file name of the disk image (.adf file) has no importance. The game running in the emulator cannot access this name. It uses the name of the floppy disk that was imaged, which is stored inside the .adf file itself.

The name of the Amiga floppy disk should be "DungeonSave". I'm not sure this is important, though. What should be important is the name of the save game file.

Youcan use the ADFOpus tool on you PC to open the .adf disk image and rename the file if required: http://adfopus.sourceforge.net/

The file name should be: "dmgame.dat"
(You probably have a file named "dmgameg.dat" is you played the german version, but I may be wrong)

Thank you so much. It worked. I really appreciate that!

I thought that the name wouldnt change anything also after a while since they still could be loaded in dm. But I would never figured out what you told me. Tnx again!

This tip maybe had helped me, but i'm resigned and played the english version instead of the german... As "Old-Europe-Guy" i can also come to an arrangement with the "Tommy-language"... ;-)
