where is the save position located in the game

Post by Penneth Karm »

Hello there. Can anyone tell me where the game save data is located. I am tired of having to replay levels if we need to reformat the pc. Thanks for any help you can give an old thicko! :)

Depends what version of the game you are playing. If you are playing the standard PC version of DM, there should be a file named "DMSAVE.DAT" in the same folder where the DM.EXE is. This file contains the savegame.

If you are playing CSBWin and downloaded a rather recent version, look in the folders "modules\dungeon-master-atari\Original DM". There should be 4 savegames named CSBGAME.DAT to CSBGAME3.DAT.

If you are playing RTC, look in the folder "modules". There should be a file named DM.SV0 (with higher numbers if you have more than one savegame, and the name of the dungeon you are playing before the dot).

Hope this helps! And welcome to the forum! :)
