killing rockpiles

I killed a rockpile using the sword and slicing it 5 or 6 times in a row while closing a gate on top of it, but is there an easier way??? Please help!!

You should cast poison cloud spells (OH VEN). I think that's the best way to kill Rockpiles.

You could also simply cast Fireballs (FUL IR) or Poison Bolts (YA VEN), as well as punch them with the bare hand and then quickly retreat. But I'd say John is right: Poison Clouds are the easiest way to kill them.

Spells are good, but as Trantor says punching does as much damage as other melee attacks and give you those satisfying ninja levels to boost your ststs. Just don't do it with a charatcer who cant take 40 - 50 damage and the following poison damage

YA VEN? I think you mean DES VEN.

Poison is way more ffective on rockpiles than fireballs. In my tests, fireballs have a negligible effect. Jabbing with the rapier is very effective too.

LOL, Trantor shows classic signs of infection by Conflux, Other signs are screaming 'hey, why's my fireball not working' and 'oh wow, healing potions are so cheap now...'

Argh! Yes, I meant DES VEN, and you are totally right Beo! I vividly remember playing The Black Flame and constantly wondering why FUL KATH was a meaningless spell, and I forgot I had to keep track of fountains as well...
