RTC is read only on my pc and will terminate. WHY?????????

Post by Penneth Karm »

Hello all.
The copy of RTC that I have on my pc terminates at boot up telling me that the file is a read only file. Is this due to the Nero rom burning software??? Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks for any help you can give.
Has anyone seen the plot?????

Do you mean you're running from a CD-ROM? that won't work, you need to run RTC from your hard-drive.

Make sure all the files are not read only. The easiest way to do this in Windows XP is to right click the folder you have RTC installed in, select Properties, then untick the read-only checkbox, click OK and make sure you select the second radio button when prompted to apply the changes to all files and folders.

Thank you very much. I had sort of worked out what needed doing but I kept changing the attribute and then trying to download from the CD icon which will never change, silly me. Thanks again. Pete

Just to confirm - The RTC engine writes to the RTC files (and temporary files to the RTC folder) while its running (as well as your save game SV? files). So, as Gambit says, just copy the files to your hard disk and make them read / write and it should all just work...
