Right-click to change weapons
I doubt many people use the direction arrows, you could shrink them a bit to allow a single line of 'extended' buttons associated with each hand or general purpose use.
One option to add would be a button to quick-change: switch the current weapon with the weapon in the scabbard.
Or perhaps general purpose buttons could be added like all-attack: one button to have all characters currently facing a beastie to use their most powerful melee attack.
Things like this would be useful for high difficulty dungeons with fast moving beasties coming from all directions.
Some of these can be done different ways. For example, for a more simpler solution (from a coding perspective), right-clicking on the weapon icon could be interpreted the same as 'use most powerful melee attack' or 'switch weapon with weapon in scabbard'
Finally, a suggestion that I would find very useful: ability to change the portrait order (this would be less useful if some of the other suggestions are implemented instead).

Why not make it a configureable option. Have a few actions, as suggested here, and they can be assigned in the config file (so people can remove or create as much un-DMness as they like.
Currently the areas that right click would be in would be keys, weapons, general area, each character portrait, and party area
So you could have
RIGHTCLICK_PARTY SPIN
RIGHTCLICK_WEAPON_1 ACTION_3
RIGHTCLICK_WEAPON_2 INVENTORY
RIGHTCLICK_MAIN INVENTORY
RIGHTCLICK_CHAR_1 ACTION_3
etc

It's quite natural nowasdays to move with the keyboard anyway - especially if you map the movement keys to WSAD and have Q and R the two turn keys. I suppose this would kind of ruin the DM experience for some people but some of these custom dungeons require fast and precise movement which isn't partucularly easy with a mouse... I like the idea of it being a configureable option tho

I always used to play with the mouse back on the Atari but since getting RTC I've ended up playing with the keyboard - it's much more effective to be able to manoeuvre and attack/cast/push buttons/pick things up, etc, especially in such instances as Supplies for the Quick.
The suggestion of portrait position swapping, now it's been mention, is something that I would probably find useful in those custom dungeons where you're either given (a) specific character(s) from the start or find their mirrors in a specific order.

Hmm Yes now you all mention it, I do need the keyboard controls for picking up the corbums. Also a confession I mark the position of the corbums with a felt tip on my monitor ! Put the mouse popinter on it then remember the keyboard strokes without even looking at the screen. Only way I can get them !
I always used the keyboard, even back in the Amiga days with the arrow keys. Now that RTC allows configuration, I have qweasd for movement and it feels most natural (I use those keys for movement on most games). Add to that a trackball instead of mouse, I never lose time with a clumsy mouse anymore!
I think a configurable right-click on weapons wouldn't break the DM spirit to those who want to keep things close to the original.
