[Done for V0.36] RTC : Table like objects

Post by andyboy_uk »

Hi all,

Is there an object that can be placed in a floor square that users can put objects on (a bit like the tables near the start of DM2) or maybe a pedestal. I know the alcoves work for putting things on walls.

If not, George, Could you add an object that allows users to put things either in the centre (like the trade table in DM2) or on the left and right (basically like putting things on a normal square but drawn a bit higher up so they "appear" to be on the table.

Any ideas?
Regards,

Andy

This really is a suggestion, so moved to the suggestion forum.

There's some discussion in other threads about this, but currently, no you can't do what you ask. The closest you can get is to clone an alcove and give it table like graphics. I've tried doing this, and although it's fiddly, it is quite convincing. The limitation is that you still have to plonk it in a cell surrounded by walls.

Yes I was looking for a free standing table.

Mr Gilbert, I think this is one for you?

This is something that I'm planning on implementing as a specific new object type.

However, there are a few other things that it depends on (in particular the perspective differences between DM and CSB) that need to be resolved first.
