new replacement bitmaps format ?

new replacement bitmaps format ?

i'm penciling some new walls/items/monsters in 24 bit but bmp format is quite big when you have lots of images to share (maybe one day) : what do you think about tga or png ?

Talked to George about these formats actually. However with regards to alpha blending. This however would require he build a software alphablending routine which might be a bit slower or use direct3D to get the hardware to do it which would be the best option. However.. to date he's only hinted at the possibility at doing something like this *one day*.. Gambit and I still have our fingers crossed.. so get to the back of the line you!! ;)
