Yeah, the wow factor would be amazing. Even that little one in the vid looked pretty good, despite it's clunky moves. Real, full size transformers are not very far away now, people. Place your orders!

Oh, and my transformer name is Rodimus Hill-Claw:

We've all done it. You have some care-free, drunken sex. You think it's just a crazy, exciting, one-night stand but before you know it her owner has trussed you up and you're expected to make an honest goat of her

Movie thing for a fantastically cool-looking game that's in development but I think it's coming out later on this year or something. Anyway it looks bloody amazing the detail and stuff in it.

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid ... 98&q=spore

Warning - don't watch it if you're low on time 'cause it's about half an hour long. But worth the watch :D.

Is this the one where you start off with a single celled organism, and evolve it, and the game engine keeps expanding from 'single creature building/survival' to 'populous like critter control' to 'space monkies'

Yes - that's the one.

I remember when it was first talked about behind the scenes a couple of years ago and it sounded stunningly ambitious then. It still does (and is) but judging by the video it seems they've pulled it off. Amazing.

Side note - If you type spore into google, despite it being a "normal" word nearly all the top results returned (including all of the top 7) are for the game, not mushrooms / fungi and the like...

It's when they develop UFOs and start blasting neighbouring cities that you have to start worrying...

I'll post a link to a pic of a satsuma I found in the bottom of the fruit bowl a couple of weeks ago. Christ knows how long it had been brewing.

Neato, though looks like the panels aren't screens -- the images appear behind them before they're in place a few times -- must just be a flat screen with touch-sensor tech on the panels.

Here's some strange/cool stuff: The last one is just wrong and I feel slightly uncomfortable posting it, but was sent to me today by our resident perv in the office.
