Warnings on Staff and Wand Charges?

Post by L!ghthouse »

Whenever I try to change the charge of a staff or wand to anything except 15, I get a warning when I compile saying "...expecting 15". (It still allows me to use it, it just gives me a warning).

It's not a bug -- it's deliberate to show when something's changed from the default settings. It's very annoying. It would be better if changing simple settings like this didn't generate warnings.

Other features, such as targetting a teleporter into a wall (which is valid when sending objects to alcoves), also generate warnings. I can understand this for newbies, but could we maybe have some kind of advanced mode where we can disable warnings selectively?

If you're really desperate to have a dungeon compile with zero warnings then you could always clone the staff / wand etc, change it's default charge to the one you want and then use the clone in your dungeon.

Ta da - same dungeon behaviour, no warnings.
