Hmm... like any country, Brtian has it's fair share of bad food, but it also has excellent food. Given that most people think the whole of the USA eats nothing but chips and burgers, isn't this a case of, um, pot, kettle black, etc.?

I feel British Cuisine is often unfairly pooh-poohed. Take this recipe for example:

Chip Butty with Curry Sauce:

Take two large doorstop slices of soft white crusty bread. Liberally butter them and lay out a generous helping of greasy deep fried (not oven) chips on one of the slices. Cover the chips in curry sauce then place the other slice on top.

An utterly divine meal IMHO
