Exchanging/reworking Hall of Heroes portrait pictures
First message, newbie question - not new to DM but to the forum
and also to RTC.
There was a Dungeon Hero picture editing tool with the CSB part
of the original DM on the Amiga... so I pixeled the portraits of our family
together and went down to flux Chaos more privately.
Now I am looking at RTC (got WinUAE as well but not that Chaos tool,
lost in translation over the years) and I really like it
but would like to repeat the nostalgic DM1 tour with RTC
and if possible, with the family.
Anybody know of a way to change
just the bitmap data ? Sure, there are some bitmaps in a folder
but things dont seem to be this easy, have to recompile part of the code
it seems. Wondering...
and also to RTC.

That is the easy way to change the bitmap data. Open the dm.txt file using the editor. Add your family bitmaps using 'add graphic' taking other portrait bitmaps as a size indicator. Edit the champion information to associate those potraits to champions instead.
Use the compile command as already discussed in a thread in the general area. There you go - you have original dm with your family pictures.

Yep much thanks, already got ahead. Btw just eplacing bmpsin the folder with a paint prog is a bit dependant in the color tables, the originals are using only 7-12 colors, not everything you save with Paintshop gets recognized by the ed - but it sure works. These pc paint progs are all made for 16-32 bit editing and they had 32 colors max in the olden days... guess I will do some serious editing over the holidays
