rtc dm - stuck

Post by cjchew »

I am playing the Original Dungeon Master clone in the Return to Chaos version. I am stuck at the 3rd level? of the dungeon, after you chop down the wooden door. On the wall there is a button that after you push it, you are suppose to right side step through the metal gate. My New Dell computer will not let me side step (left or right) into the gate, instead it turns my party 90 degrees to face the direction I am trying to turn. The only way I can side step, is to use the mouse to click on the right side step on the monitor, which is way too slow for me to get through the metal gate before it closes. Any suggestions or solutions would be greatly apprieciated. Thank you

To use the keyboard to turn, you need to use the keys on the numpad - the top or botton six (I forget which as it's different between RTC and CSBWin) map to the six directional buttons on the screen. You can also edit the keys in the Config file if you don't like them...and also if you're playing it on a laptop then you won't have a numpad.
Hope that helps and welcome to the forum :).

I want to thank you for responding so fast. I will have to work a 15 hour shift starting at 4 pm today, and it is already 9 am -- I did put on the number lock and discovered that I can right side-step with the 3 on the number pad, and I will try it probably on Sunday afternoon. I will let you know how it turns out. Thank you again.
