Dungeon Master II v0.9 Beta

Post by Relig »

I just happend to come across a version of DM II that I hadn't heard of before.

It's at this site Gobins Old Games http://gog-games.yw.sk/game.php?id=293 and it has DM II v.09 Beta for downloading.

I've read here in the forum of beta versions of DM II before, but not v.09. May be a typo, I don't really know, or it just could be the same one that was mentioned.

Something for you to check out if you want, I guess. You will need 7zip as well as WinRar.

I played it a bit and it works under dosbox.

There's even an alien character to select that I hadn't seen before.

I don't know what the site says about the game as it's in a language I couldn't translate.

This is already all available on the Encyclopedia and there are a couple of threads about it here.

Actually, it's on the DM Encyclopaedia, but like you I hadn't heard of it until Suule mentioned it once

Well I was one of the first to get my hand on a beta. Then I lost the CD with it... I think it was around 1995-1996 when I had it.

There's a lot I can say about the Beta... I managed to crack a lot of it's puzzles. But the game's incomplete state forbids me to finish it.

Ah, my mistake.

I saw that thread here, but didn't see it mention v.09.

I also did a seach on the encycolp. but I guess I didn't do that good of a search.

And I thought I found something new

Aww, well I said I never heard of it until recently!

I think Suule calling it DM 1.9 probably didn't help the searching! (simply becuase the engine is still a combination of DM with new hacks and changes - which is no bad thing, I lke RTC for not being DM" engine in some ways!)
