Hey, me too. I just killed my first three mimics today. Those entangling noodles are amazing, but I still can't hit the really tough monsters, even when they're paralyzed. I need a better attack spell.
I dropped a couple eggs in the stash, but I ate the rest. By the way, do you have any picket fence at your campsite? Good stuff. When I get mine filled up, I'll start dumping them in the stash for you. Oh, and we might have a newcomer to the guild. He sent me a message last week, but I just got it today. Ameena, you should whitelist World Krusha on my behalf.

You've just gotta level up a bit to take on stuff that's pwning you atm - it was the same for me, finding certain mobs tough but then ganking them after spending a day or two messing around elsewhere
.
I got the Oyster Basket this morning - got myself a shitload of eggs and ate all the edible ones - not tried any of the combat ones yet but I will do next time I'm in a tricky fight and remember I've got 'em
.
Tom - I think picket fence in the campground is for PvP purposes...I know you can get barbed wire which harms players who try to attack you or something - my dad found some somewhere and stuck it in his campground just 'cause he had it - neither of us are bothering with PvP.
OH, and about that World Krusha dude...Whitelisting someone just means that they can get into the Clan as soon as they apply, rather than having to be approved by someone. What's this World Krusha like, then?

Ahh...well he wouldn't have to wait long if he did have to wait, since I'm on every morning and evening. I'll see if I remember
.
Picket Fence sounds okay, but I don't use mana so umm...not overly useful to me
. My dad's managed to get a Pagoda in his campground, which gives extra hp when resting and I think it gives some other stuff too...can't remember.
I dunno if anyone's noticed, but you also heal extra hp when Grimace is full. When Ronald is full you restore extra mana

I've put a couple of Barrrnacles in the stash 'cause I had some spare - help yourselves...they're familiars so if you just put it in your terrarium you'll have yourself another new pet

Well, I used up a heap of adventures at lunch to get to the next level juuuust to test to see if i could get through the hidden temple. Nope. Still, level 8 uis nice.
Then I went and got slightly further in the fernrathy bit until a ghiost writer killed me for 210 hit points!
Then , I finally killed the goblin king! The option I always clicked on on a certain screen, i tried somehting els,e and boom - the disguise I had thought I should use to start with! Bang, I now have a crown and it's all good
Also, for some reason not getting my butt handed to me like when I first went into the woods of the firars, so found one part!
I wonder if some item makes you immune to their fire damaage, I was lucky, or if it's a level thing

I still don't know how you killed the goblin king. I'm level eight and he mops the friggin' floor with me.
I spent 118 adventures that I had accumulated over the weekend and accomplished absolutely nothing but to collect loads of candy and alcohol. It's like I've reached a barrier that I cannot pass because absolutely everything in the game is either too powerful or too weak for me, and that really puts me off. I don't have the money to invest in cooking or anything useful like that. How are you guys actually getting anything done?

Do you actually get into combat with him, or does he just kick you?
I'm pretty even in my skill distribution, and my main character is a disco bandit so perhaps the moxie etc makes a difference? Still, if you can get the noodle entrapment power you should be able to slow him down for a few rounds at a time
I think the secret of the game is just chipping away at what you can do - for example, the treasury, except for the guards, is easy and gives you alot of money, then the coooking area gts you alot of food stuff for cooking (which you will be able to get with the treasury money)
Don't forget to go everywhere you can just to get adventures to tide you over - the gourd tower and bounty hunter, etc
It's weird, the friars killed me dead before with the creatures, and now I'm fine
Oh, I guess also just keep tryign out new equipment too, just to ensure you have the most powerful attacks and defence possible.
Perhaps if you list the quests you've done and to do we can start comparing and seeing if there's any helpful hints!

One thing regarding equipment and attacking - you should use a wep that's based off your main stat (Muscle for Clubbers/Tamers, Mysticality for Pastamancers/Saucerers, Moxie for Thieves/Bandits) since this stat should be your highest - otherwise you'll never hit anything. Ranged weps are best for the Moxie classes, I'm told. I dunno about Mysticality classes - you might wanna ask in the Newbie channel in chat...someone might be nice and give you a suitable wep (it's how I got my current crossbow...didn't ask for it, someone just gave it to me 'cause I mentioned I was using a melée wep).
Regarding the Goblin King, if all he does is kick you out of his room (doing about 10 dam but not entering proper combat), you haven't got the disguise you need (or you don't have it all equipped).
The boss at the end of one quest is very tough for the level - you'd wanna gain a level or three before you take him, and of course have some nice gear. Check out the stash - I might've put something nice in there which you'll find useful.

I've got the disguise. I've had the disguise for a long time. I use the diguise and perfume every time I go in there. He just destroys me. Entanglement only works for one round on bosses and some other powerful creatures. I can kill anything in the goblin hill in one hit. It's only the king that kills me.
I try to stay out of the stash as much as possible because I want to progress on my own, but I did take two arches because bonus adventures are pure cream . . . although I mostly get colas, which are practically useless. I'm gonna sell them from now on.
My stats are also very even, as that seems to be how advancement works, i.e., everyone gets good at everything at about the same rate, with very little deviation. The highest differential between stats is probably about 20 percent. I can swing an axe and gain mysticality, but I can also cast a spell and gain muscle. I rather despise that aspect of the game, but I suppose it fits with the lack of sensibility.
So far the most productive area I've found is the tavern, which I had previously discredited but now realize that the gains are phenomenally higher than the drawbacks. I literally gained at least a half-dozen full stat points there today, most of them in a row.
I'm killing goblins for cash, but they're too weak to make practical opponents. I want to explore some of the old areas again to see if I can survive them now, as each level does seem to make a substantial difference, even though the stat gain is incremental. I feel like there are a lot of hidden rules in this game — like something else we know, perhaps — and you have to put a lot of faith in everything, which is not my preferred playing style.
It's just strange to me that I'm the only one of us who can't complete a basic quest we received at the beginning of the game I'm clearly doing something wrong. I never had any trouble at all on the guild quests, including White Citadel, which was one of the most rewarding quests I've done. Which reminds me: if you guys want cheap fries, they're 80 meat apiece. I thought about dumping a whole bunch in the stash, but I don't have the money for it.

It's okay...I don't buy food or booze - I just loot it off various mobs. I'm running a bit low on both atm actually...I'd better hunt somewhere I can get a nice build-up of it again. When I'm out of adventures for the day, I stuff myself with both food and booze till I can't take any more of either - this gives me a nice stack of adventures to carry over to the next day, by which time the drunkenness has worn off so I can actually use 'em
.
Been sort of messing around in places atm...also been trying to get the appropriate items for all my familiars in the Cake-Shaped Arena (each familiar has a specific item which is only for them and which improves their stats). I think I have about six or seven familiars now - trying to max out their weights though if my hp is getting low I'll switch back to Bob (my Mosquito) or Nibbler (my Ghuol Whelp, who's not maxed yet anyway) to top me up a bit

Well I only did the bat recently and the goblin king today, so I've been getting kicked with basic quests too
You lose 100 meat each tavern visit, don't you?
And weird, I'm only away to start the white ctadel, just unlocked it todaay and ran out of adventures.
Off for a day tomorrow, so will have 80 to play aroudn with. Going to clean out the crypt aswell though, so see how it goes!
I think that you need to find ways of gaining meat and buying cooking and cokcktail items and then looking itno getting more skilsl and more experience with powerful cooking stuff.
I know my disco bandit now has 60odd hp, while my pastomancer, only a level or two below, has half that - so there is a variation in the stat gains, even if small, that limits them I think...
Sicne ameena and i are both disco bandits then this might account for the apparent poor performance. Thoguh not as good as muscle classes, they still are powerful enough within reason in close combat too - and I believe ameena goes for the prefered ranged combat option too

Finally beat him. I'm so glad the council doesn't offer rewards. Wouldn't want it to actually be worthwhile. Granted, I'm not turning down a nice helmet or two dense meat stacks, but the only value I know for them so far is resale. Time to start cooking, I guess.
The tavern always gives you one drunkenness each visit. Most times you lose some money. Unless you get one of the really bad events where you lose 100 meat and 10 stat points, you almost always gain a crapload of stat points, enough to advance a rank. The benefits seriously outweight the drawbacks unless you're super unlucky, which I was in the beginning. I lost a level that time.
Oh, I also learned that all the candy and gum you get south of the border is best sold. That makes the encounters far more worthwhile. The effects of eating said sweets are negligible and often negative. I tried one piece of each and sold the rest. At my highest point I had 14 different effects going on at once, and that's minus the inherent one from a weapon. Had I drank a red minotaur, it would have been 15.
Can someone tell me where I'll find the music I need to get into Hey Deze?

Music? I got in there with a map after doing the Deep Fat Friars quest - you find all their stuff and then can enter Hey Deze any time you like through the Deep Fat Friars' Gate.

I know what the Banjo Strings are for.
As for the Hey Deze Gate...umm I've been in there loads - there's a quest in there to recover some items belonging to a demon dude called Azazel or something, which I've done. Meh, I haven't been in there since then so maybe I missed something. Ohh I can't remember lol...been doing so much other stuff. Worked on unlocking more of Spookyraven Manor today. And I ran out of booze again, lol.

I managed to start clearing out the crypt, but basically only defeated one of the bosses, with the aid of the massage oils fro mthe harem only as a huge health recovery - otherwise cannot resist or deal enough damage To make it through the bosses
went on to the mining bit (sudden;y realsied i'd get the disguise in the mine) and ran out of adventures
Oh, lhic eye -> lihc eye pie btw, which gives you the eye of the lhic effect. Oh, and ghoul ear kebab seems to be about 6- 10 adventures, not too shabby!
Tom, you are so right about the tavern - for each meat you lose or 10 stat, you gain like 100- 150 stat another time! Crazy! It beats the level up at the hidden temple almost - there isn't pretty much 50/63 fr those. so yah, did that a few times
Obsessed, since I say a probablility potion, on how to make one - must use clvers somehow for cocktailing! Must be the secret of playing one of the games of chance and getting the epic weapon part!
Still not managed to meatsmith anything - everytime I try a random set of parts, it never works

Ameena: that's not actually Hey Deze. That's the gate to Hey Deze. You need to acquire the map and then some kind of music item to actually get into Hey Deze proper. That's what I was talking about. By the way, I finished Azazel's quest. Easy as pie, and the reward was amazing.
If you need booze, I can throw some in the stash. I have a ton left over from the barrel full of barrels. Or you could just smash some barrels. I think the trick is to never smash barrels close to each other, and try to keep from smashing the same column/row in sequence. The last two times I smashed them all, I encountered only one mimic (and a few exploders, which seem to be far worse than mimics at this point).
I did the whole mining bit on my own. Now I'm stuck at the start of the goat trail.
Damn, I really need to buy myself an oven!

The goats seem pretty powerful, to start with I was getting spanked, I then retreated, took off the mining gear, and put back on my usual equipment, and found I was getting hit much much less.
At first I thought you needed to do siomehtign with the goat's milk, but it seems the cheese is a separate thing to gain.
After that, the Xtreme skiers are actually very tough (must bneed better protection against them) but if you can stomach the damage the items come easily, and then that's it - a sizeable reward for your hard works!

Yeah, the goat's cheese is a drop in itself. At the time I did it, I didn't really have a problem with the goats.
Yeah, the Cyrpt is tough - can give you a few hints to beating some of the bosses there though, if you like. But that place is kinda tough.

Actually, after the miner's/trapper's area, I have enough equipment and staying power to take those bosses out. I ran out of adventures before I oculd tackle the boss lihc but the zombie and ghoul boss are now dusted, along with the original boss I lucked taking out before. Perhaps the heart will be different.
I'm keeping the goblin crown instead of using a lhic face to stop spooky damage. Find the two handed miner's pick is great for that weakening of the bosss - either that or somethign else is ensuring they miss more.
It's funny how obviopus lack of protection (or perhaps difference in stats) means that some creatures can pound you nastily. Those skateboarders were hitting me for 15HP at a time for example, while others I used to fear I can yawn through!
Actually, in general I'm spottignthere does seem to be a need to find ways toreduce certain types of damage.
