Hi
I've been penciling 2 illustrations for an amateur gamebook named "Les Sabres d'Eshnar". The story takes place in the world of Lone Wolf, at the same time as "The Chasm of Doom".
Sorry for non french readers !
Ooooh, very nice, and highly evocative of the original LW presentation. I love them! For 126, I prefer the second version, it's more detailed and for 322 the second hands are definitely better.
I like the personality to the guy being chased by the dino.. but I can't help think giggler from his pose.. which of course makes me cheer for the dino
This is a fake cover of the book, looking like the old FF/LW french gamebooks collection.
Finally, the book will be published with another title and the names and game rules will be changed. The publisher doesn't want any problem with Mr Dever or other publishers who may have bought Lonewolf copyrights.
i received a printed version of the gamebook ! the size is bigger than the classic pocket format. see comparison below with Forest of Doom :
i am really happy to read it "for real", although there are few details i dislike : space between lines is too large, paper is "too" white, margins are too short... this is due to my ignorance of page setup.
Want some help, Linflas? I've published some stuff on Lulu and I've been through all the pain and misery that is learning all about line spacing and kerning.
You can change the file, it's not too late.
I also have a contact who's a French language small-press publisher who might well be interested in this; he's been asking me about translating a pen and paper RPG of mine into French.
well, technically we are not "published" by a real editor.
@monfulir : thanks for your help, but now that i've got the book in hands, i'm quite fed up with all that : illustrating was a piece of cake comparing to page setup work !
I just discovered XHOROMAG and ADVELH and found (again) your book. How did it go? Did you sell many copies (if that was your intent)?
Do you know twine? Which would you recommend between twine and advelh?
Selling it isn't my intention but you can buy yours on Lulu ! I think there are only 2 printed books in the world ... I never tried any gamebook software but most of writers from "Rendez vous au 1" use Adlveh. Maybe you should ask them for better advice than mine.
