Hi there,
when playing CSBwin (the original dungeon master dungeon) I do not hear "click" whenever pressing a button or stepping on a pressure pad. I got used to that, although I miss the sound and remember the original Atari ST version having those sounds.
Is that only on my PC (all other FX are perfect) or is it a general feature of CSBwin?
Now there is a strange thing I have encountered while playing ...
I had RTC open in a parallel window (not playing RTC but just displaying the main screen).
Then I switched by Alt+Tab to my CSBwin game.
All of a sudden, I hear "clicks" after pressing buttons and switches in my CSBwin game. And ONLY when RTC is active at the same time. Isn't that crazy? Has anyone an explanation for that?
I am delighted to have the sounds now, but somewhat I fear RTC rules and CSB game engine rules being mixed somehow with possibly unwanted effects for my characters.
Well if the sounds mix, then maybe the game rules do too. What do you think?
"Click" sound FX

Yes, as soon as I terminate the RTC window, the click sound stops in CSBwin. And when reopening the RTC window the "clicks" come again in CSB.
But thanks to you, I found out it has to be DirectX. I have tried selecting the DirectX option in the sound menu and ... now there are click sounds in CSB, regardless of RTC running or not running in another window.
My own idea of explanation: RTC automatically activates DirectX sound endorsement which effects CSB, even if I DirectX is not selected in CSB's volume menu.
