Re: Cool stuff you've found on the web
I had a quick go, but I know I'm not very good at those sortts of games so didn't really do very much. The noise of the ball rolling around reminds me of one we had as a demo on the Atari - Oxyd, it was called. Not that's one I'd like to play again - couldn't get any further than level 11 on our version 'cause like I said, it was just a demo

Heh, what a coincidence, I'm going to Denmark next week (at least I hope so)!

Finally playing and immensely enjoying the awesome Thimbleweed Park-a-reno!
Re: Cool stuff you've found on the web
Well those of you off to Denmark, be sure to do what the locals do and communicate in a series of meaningless guttural sounds....

Re: Cool stuff you've found on the web
Meh...did the first level (after I managed to figure out wtf I was supposed to do), but then got stuck on the second. Looks like the kind of thing that might show up on OML at some point though. I was probably just doing it completely wrong

Re: Cool stuff you've found on the web
Great, another time-consuming game... I'm on level 6 and don't know what to do. It's insane. Reminds me The Incredible Machine (heh, another great game of old times), but this one is much more based on random movement of thge things, i.e. luck.
Any ideas of what to do on level 6?

Re: Cool stuff you've found on the web
don't remember how I did them all but each one does use skill more than luck until you get to 22. Then I think he ran out of ideas and just started seeing how far he could push physics. for number 6 think monkey.. or tarzan

Re: Cool stuff you've found on the web
LOL, I got to level 13 and ran out of my patience.cowsmanaut wrote:he ran out of ideas

I'll probably go back to The Incredible Machine... I haven't played it for more than 10 years, I think.

Re: Cool stuff you've found on the web
Why, what did you get? I only noticed on about level 17 or something that there's a level name shown at the bottom which is basically a hint as to what you have to do. It's probably a good job I noticed it around then, as some of the later levels I'd never have figured out wtf you're supposed to do.

Re: Cool stuff you've found on the web
Hey, where'd my answer go?
I got 110 deaths because I let the elephant die alot in places like the windy one, and other times I was genuinely crap at controlling like the gravitii one
The refresh one forced me to use the walkthrough, as all the ways I tried didn't work. Didn't actually think to actually do it so broad. The rest of the ricks I got pretty quickly.

Re: Cool stuff you've found on the web
I think it was the refresh one where I first noticed the level titles - think I started just looking around the screen because I wasn't having any luck at solving the level. Then I tried refreshing, as it said, and bam, easy
.

Yeah, I was using F5, F8, F12 etc and going 'grrr, what else' and escaping, etc. Wasn't thinking of the whole browser!
I guess it's like Monkey Island puzzles, some you just get without thought and other really obvious ones your brain is never in gear for. The mouse controlled one I jumped to disgustingly quickyly!

Re: Cool stuff you've found on the web
Yeah, I got that one fast enough. None of them were particulay hard to work out, as such. It's just that I died quite a few times on some of them, like the one where the ground is striped and you die if you touch the blue stripes. Died quite a lot on that one, lol.
