Well, I can officially apologize for any complaints about weapons not doing enough damage. I un-cursed the Furx, and am blown away by it. Maybe now I can explore a few new places with it.

So those are called Vexirks, eh? I thought that the mages (for example, the high priest) were vexirks. But that's ok, at least now I know I haven't been getting the crap kicked out of me by stupid goblins. That level with the "Save the Slaves" area & all that stuff is thoroughly stumping me. Having a hard time figuring out what to do at all on that level, but I'm working on it.

Oh, also a few places within the Crypt get me too. The altar of love and the altar of assault, in particular. I finally managed to kill the demon in the altar of love area, but didn't really find anything to do. Except the creepy old man, but I'm not sure what pressing that button did. As for the altar of assault, that place is weird. I got out of there, but wasn't assaulted by anything at all. The place unnerved me, so I just got out as quick as I could.

Hey, I'm really glad you and Sealtiel are enjoying the game.
And yep, this all the help you'll get from me for your current questions.
Hee, hee, like I hadn't already figured that out? :?

Here's a short verse of rhyme for you...

Zyx....YIKES!

Really, thanks a bundle friend, for the great game (C3)

Sealtiel, you can use the hint oracle with your savegames to learn the names and shapes of the denizens of the dungeon.

Ah I warned you not to kill the demon... *Sigh* love's young bloom ripped assunder :(

Is the altar of assault the town under siege? If so, you needed to stick around for a while, then, you know you get assaulted alot. I never solved that area, dunno why :(

Whoops, guess I screwed up the altar of love then. I did hit the button by the old man first, but I'm not sure what it did.

Oh, and I waited around for quite a while in the altar of assault area; and never saw anything except the creepy old men. Are these areas optional or required? That would suck to make it as far as I have & screwed something major up.

I'm not sure if it's time triggered, or triggers when you get close to the city gates

They get triggered close to the city gates, either by actual triggers or by the monsters starting to chase you and break the gates.

I went back and visited that room with switches all over the floor. Stocked up on magic slayers (I definitely saved a game over one that had covered the replicator section grrrr).
I also went down and replicated the Furx. Not as fancy as the original, but usable, nontheless.

I'm back up to 26 points on the competition scroll (wimp, I know).

That teleport scroll... :?: Does it really work?

Oh yeah, I also went up and took care of the sentinel. I'm thinking that stone/whatever dragon, with the half-opened door in the way, is in the section with all the buttons on the columns. I hope to find that place again, so I can try to clear it out.

The teleport scroll works, but you need to know how to get the best out of it. That secret is buried deep in the apprentice rooms.

I think I'll just tuck that scroll away for a bit. I went back and straightened some of my 'confusion in a game-save sort of way' undone stuff.
(Couldn't believe I must have written over the save that had a duplicated Furx  )

Then I spent a little time playing on that 'go dark all the time' floor.

Anyway, I'm back on the guild floor, hundreds of magic missiles in hand  , and have saved slots 2-4 all the same now.

The past has passed.
On to the twisted cobweb that is set before my heroes and me.

(Wish I had that 'Armageddon' spell, from Might and Magic, to use underwater. )

I finally figured out using the plasma in the alcove to open the energy door, on the priest floor.

Now I can finally use the lightning spell. YAY!

I haven't figured anything to open the other doors, however, so are the things 'left around' going to open any of them?

Killed that tough little robed guy. I checked my points.
Hmmm. 30. I'm still a wimp.

I finally figured out that I could cast a poison cloud, push the button, and it moved the poison cloud to the other side of that 'half opened' black door.
Poor little snakeman. He didn't have a chance.

Hmmm. After figuring that out, all I end up with is a stone club for my trouble? :?: :?: :?:

That ZYX is just a meanie.

Hello!

Playing C3 only since two weeks, being new here - but got several hints, thx!
But some questions are still without an answer.

Is there any possiblity to go behind the grate door at level 00 "The giggler of all"?
I've thrown many daggers (ok, not so important) and also a shuriken at him, killed him - and can't get back my staff.

THX for helping!

Yes, yes it is! I think you are missing an obvious small button somewhere close...

Yepp! :-)
But it's really small and invisible for me. I knocked this wall, too. But except my weapons there is nothing. :-(

THX for helping!
(Maybe I'll come back for this...)

Hmm, there used to be a singe jewel in there too somewhere

I believe killing the giggler should reduce the abilities of other gigglers, if I recall an old comment by Zyx correctly
Oh well, good you got your stuff back anyway!

Hi!

Going deeper means getting more questions... ;-)

Stair of ashes is cleared and open. Dark Councilor is successfully killed (nice way ;-) ).
I picked up the Emerald key from the alcoven at the emerald level 03,01 - the door behind closes. I managed to kill the golem and going down to the junction. Killed everything what moved. Got the dragon shield out of the Clockwise maze. climbed up the tower of loops, entered the tower of doors (finished both, I think), and failed already at the second level of tower of pits - I never got the rhythm for the pits.

1) Is there a trick for these pits?

2) Is there a possiblity to leave the junction on an other way than through the towers? I didn't open any other walls or doors. How to open the grate for the cartographers?

3) Found my way to the door of the emerald forest - but I have only 4 emerald keys, so I can't get the second Sar key.
What should I do?

I tried everything what came in mind - so please give me more uncrypted tips...

Thanks for helping!
Nervbert

1) Hmm, for the tower of pits, there may well be for one or two of them...it's been a while, so take this as a sucggestion only - perhaps using freeze life for potential giggler pits, and also look for switches on walls, and also try to throw items at pits to see if they really disappear

I have a funny feeeling at least one of these applies - for the rest, you just need to make sure you aren't overloaded, and go for it!

2) I think there are a few ways to the various doors. I cannot remember the grate of the cartographers though, so it might be too new for me

3) Find more emerald keys! There are lots to find in the emeral level below the council level, and there are some around on the higher levels too.

Hi Beowuuf,

it seems that in the two areas of tower of pits there are no switches. Even with naked group I wasn't able to manage the second floor.
How many emerald keys are there? I can't find any more at the emerald floor.

I found the hint here that there is the possibility to get into the emarald forest without a Sar key - "solution is obvious" but not for me. Pleaaaaseeee help!

Greetings, Nervbert

Ah, I meant wall switches for switches. And zyx might have put a fake pit in one part, so you may find you can stand on a square you cannot.

I am sure the very upper level of the pit requires some freezing!

Hmm, there are quite a few emerald keys. However, for the sapphire keys I think you might need to look around the spider level to find at least one of them...if I recall correctly.

Hmm, the solution is obvious to the malificent guild, as they get a song hint
Spoiler
Walk backwards through the wall!

1. I don't remember any particular trick to the tower of pits aside from just getting across without falling. There should just be a key at the top here and that's it. You then have to backtrack to the real trick as I remember.

2. I'm pretty sure you can't open it, you just look through to see the gigglers teleport away.

3. Plenty of Emerald Keys on the Emerald Golems on the Emerald level and lots more hidden elsewhere, but it's true, you don't need the SAR keys. But also there are other SAR keys, one on the spider level and one the level above.

@Beowuuf
THX, worked, beeing now in the forest.

1) Is it true, that
Spoiler
the wallswitches to reach the forest can used only once
?
2) And is there
Spoiler
only this Dragon Poleyn
?

3) At Aquatana, the monsters regenerate? I tried to kill all with the "dirty room" at level 16 as a retreatment room (stair up + down), but they seem endless. (BTW, found a nice way the "convince" them to committ suicide, nearly.)

4) Maze of thieves - what is there hidden or as a booty?

@Antman
I saw no giggler behind the cartographer's guild door...

So, enough ennoying question from a newbee in Conflux.
Have a nice sunday,
Nervbert

(I hope I used this spoiler marks correctly; as a newbee also in this forum I was not shure whiche information should be hided.)

Glad it did!

1) I'm afraid so!
2) For a normal game, yes
3) Yes, they do, but it's player caused - you need to intelligently use the surroundings (as you may have found) and be strong and brave enough to not move aroudn too much. Healing potions if you've found enough flasks and staves are good!
4) You need to see the light in the spiders level, I believe, and solve that puzzle

I think the sheer weight of this thread is spoiler preventative enough by now, but your tags were well placed and much appreciated! :D

Thanks!

Finally got the
Spoiler
winged key
on top of the tower of pits.
Beowuuf, you where right, and discovering this the pits were really to manage.

But now I haven't still solved the tower of loop. "Stop before and think" somebody wrote. O yes, I did it, for long times at different places, but neither clue nor success. Please tell it to me!

And yes, picking the clues out of this thread is a really spoiler preventage!

Greetings out of a tower, Nervbert

You know how the tower traps you inside it, and so you have to jump down a pit to escape? Well, this means there is a certain square that is probably blocking you.

So, perhaps if you stop beside it, and have a good long think while being observant, some inspiration may hit :D

*sigh*

I think I need a direct thwack! on my dragon helmet...
I didn't got it. After nearly 2h of trying different squares, waiting etc. I still can only leave the tower by
Spoiler
climbing down the pit in front of the poison bolt shooter
.
Please send a PM, if you don't want to write the direct solution here.
THX!

Nah, spoiler tags should be fine here:
Spoiler
Stand on the stairs above the pit and wait to see a garbled wall text. That will indicate it is safe to run forward and find the winged keyhole at the base of the tower! Umm, though it isn't safe around the keyhole if i recall correctly...

Hui,
got it! And I managed it to climb the top getting in contact with the archmaster, I think.

And that's it - after 2 evenings of trying to kill him and his creatures, and always crushed into the ground, using nearly all I've collected so far, staffs and blast spores and ven eggs, nothing worked...
And it seems to me, that I'm the only one who can't kill him - in the whole thread I didn't find a hint which is helping me.
Pleeaaseee...! ;-)
