Thanks Zyx, whats different in 3.5? Are there new challenges, puzzles or just a tweak to existing puzzles and challenges?

I honestly don't remember, there must be some info in the "version history.txt" file.

In the south of France where I live for more than 30 years now (I was born in Paris) each city or village got one or more fountains and every summers, because of the heat, people drinks at fountains receiving and drinking water in their hands, joined to make a cup form. That does not make us punk, does it? :)

This said, it was never in my intention to offence you with this question (just thought it could be useful), I have great respect for you and your work. If I did, I apologize sincerely.

Charles Lescot

P.S. Thx again for give me access to the beta, DM is a passion for more than 20 years and it is a pleasure to re-discover it through Conflux

I am from the south of France too and I won't allow you to stain the reputation of my peop...
Ah come on Charles ! I was pulling your leg all along! My jokes are famed for being bad (ask Sophia) or unintelligible (ask Gambit). Forgive my nonsense.

I really can't do anything about the fountains, you'll have to ask Paul Stevens about this feature.

I have to say, I'm really annoyed by the amount of gigglers and assorted theives spawning everywhere, taking away my valuable stuff (torches). I like some of the latest improvements - Wine cellar difficulty tone down, trees being weakened. I'm still on my first run with Leif and Daroou. I'm very surprised that most of the unique stuff they had is now missing!

That makes Iadio not-so-overpowered in terms of gaining wizard skills (Early access to FUL Staff). I'll play more later and give more of the impressions.

I believe that one of the new tweaks is that characters in the party actually matter - before, the cheat was that the character possession mattered.

So if Zed losts his horn, or was dead, you would still get the benefits of Zed.

I guess a second benefit is that the unique possessions can now be set as quest items for those heroes, instead of being given by default as an engine mechanic. And that these 'uniue' possessions can be available to more characters, just they shine if used by their true owner

Oh don't get me wrong - actually it makes the game more interesting now. I still haven't found out if there's still "Curse of the Darc", but I know Nabi lost his special shield he had.

I hope I can get to the good stuff soon because so far all I have to battle through those capped green midgets. Oh on another notice - I got my first 'disease' from a rockpile... quite interesting I must say.

Very perceptive Beowuuf.
Suule, could you tell me where or in which parts the gigglers and green sprites are too many? The sewers (I want them to be rather rare than flooding.)

Can't take credit... you have a first pass at a document on the background of the champions somewhere I believe done by me, so I knew details of what you were planning! :)

Thx for this reply Zyx, it was a relief, really. ^^
I gonna work my sense of humor, promise.

about Conflux 3.5, what i have seen so far:
- no more letters associated to savegames (only "A" for the first one)
- when you select and action for a character then pass, his/her hand remain squarred in blue (as in bugfix5)
- mana stat of Chani is very low now as she suffer a lot for the lost of the pendant feral. boris got 64 points and Tiggy 85, perhaps a number between 70 and 75 mana could be balanced.
- too much gigglers and green lutin, that make some lvl really a pain (especially sewers as you guess)

all for now

EDIT: Magic training is much harder now make the game more difficult in early hours.

Team: Gando
further members: Boris (chani if mana stat is balanced), Tiggy, Gothmog

The sewers were a problem in Bugfix 5 because of major flood of trollins and gigglers. I'm gonna descend there to see whether the issue has been resolved. So far I got through the first Flask quest which was considerably easy. I still need to beat the giggler of it all. It's good that the monster generation in the cellar was toned down a bit. I was kind of annoyed with small rats swarming all over cellars at some point.

I've solved most of Cellars and preparing to descend further. I've noticed that my characters currently suck at magic and I'll need to train them a lot before venturing forth.

Party so far:
Leif, Daroou

ok, I was playing sewers with MG and I don`t think it`s too hard. For maleficient it is certainly too hard, but generally it`s just about balanced.
I know giggs are annoying, but that`s the beauty of DM :D
I wouldn`t change anything in the sewers!!! This level is one of the coolest in Conflux :)

Oh speaking of Kath Vinegar... I only made it work once as bomb. In the "Spores" area. I threw it at the chewers (Not using the throw command though) and it produced a bang and some poison. Then I tried replicating it but I haven't been able to use them correctly.

I really like the new ideas that were added to the game, and the new graphics, really nice; but the disease system, how i can I say that... I really dislike it.
All my characters are ill now and i don't know how they got the flu and moreover how to cure them. Really hard to play with vitality=1 and dexterity=1. keep killing rats to feed them, and can't use any weapon skill; never touch my enemies.
For now Tiggy still don't have any lvl in ninja mastery and can't improve her fighter skill because she was the first to get illness. In my opinion, Conflux is hard enough without this system.
If someone can help me please, I'm really stuck.

Speaking of diseases. Any way to rid of "Sweating and fever trouble you." I've tried eating snapdragons, hoping it would be perfect cure, but no.

Anyway - yesterday I stormed the temple. As usual it was easy as hell except for the snakes. I'm gonna write solutions to the puzzles down before I descend any further. Out of curiosity - are the shambling mounds in the pit of Epheus area intended?

Only that? i got 3 diseases on Gothmog, 2 on others:
"You feel nauseous and sick"
"fever and sweet trouble you"
and "Chills and temblors run along your body" ^^'
Anyway, same question as you Suule: "how to get rid of this"?

I got the "Chills and Temblors" now. Also - killed the Minotaur and started unlocking the mirrors. I still haven't figured out the solution to "MIPS puzzle" So far I've opened 2 doors... Using the BeoBow doesn't make the arrows go through the gate though... odd. I'll investigate further.

EDIT: I think I'll wait for a possible solution to the disease problem/send Zyx the savegame file since Leif is getting massive vitality/dexterity drops that renders him virtually unusable in the sewers.

To Paul Stevens:
more on crash problems, this time, crash 51738 after I click on "launch spell" window, after I click OK on the error message, an other window pop saying "System Error 22140 MissileFilter"

Other question: what means "Excessive DSA operations. This is the LAST warning"? got this pop up time to time.

Went to the sewers to look if I can survive and got in a fight with slug-for-a-butt thing. Got two new diseases "Icy..." and "Nauseous..." since then.

Some basic lore about diseases:
You get them when hurt by certain monsters.
You recover from diseases effects while sleeping.
You get cured of them with time or when drinking wine or juice (press out the fruit while holding an empty flask)

Now, the current bugs:
- stats shouldn't decrease below half their maximum (fixed)
- potions had too low chances of curing you (fixed)
- the shakings were missing a sound (fixed)

I'll upload a new beta today. Send me your current savegames - you'll need the new csbgraphics.dat anyway.

my internet is seriously broken recently so here's the megaupload of the savegame:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Y05G6CVL

Oh I've tried drinking SAR wine to cure the disease but I couldn't. Sleeping didn't help that much most of the time. Potions... yeah if you're talking about
Spoiler
Curing with a serum potion, that didn't work at all.

Crashone:

Can you try CSBwin11_027Debug.zip?
It has code to flush the recording and it
has lots of internal consistency checks.
If you save your recording and the savegame
from which it runs then we may have some
hope of fixing the problem.

Odd as hell... compared to the last beta this one is slow as hell. I mean the intro animation drags out and when I consume a SAR Wine the game just stops responding.
